OK so I've read up on how to write one, how to submit one and have picked out 5 initial(free) sites to submit to. My question is this - does it not matter if I paste the same exact content to all 5 press release sites? Or should I rewrite each one a little? My main reason for doing this is backlink juice for the site in question, with any additional traffic and such a bonus |

duplicate content penalty is a myth ... It does notmatter if you post your same article 1,000,000,000 sites and the same goes for press releases. It is called syndication. James |

You are talking a press release here and changing that may hurt you if a editor decides to pick it up and see different versions. I am no press release expert but put your shoes in a editors position. I would not worry about the link juice as I said it's normal. What I would consider is those reading and getting ahold of that press release.. James

Hi Liam, I have extensive experience working with press releases, and I can tell you that google will show the identical version multiple times in its' SERPS. For example go to google and type in "Revolutionary Online Website Builder -Koorus- Launches Today" or simply search for "Koorus". You'll see the same press release listed multiple times. Hope that helps, Steve |

Hi Laim, I have written many press releases and I can assure you that having the same content being sent to all 5 is not a bad thing... There is no reason why you can not send that same information to everyone. Good Luck! |

I like how James put it. It is just another form of syndication. Think about when a major crisis occurs in your country. They use the same video footage (if present) on all the different news channels. I agree with what the other posters have said, just wanted to throw a little societal evidence in there for you haha - Tommy PS. Check out this website, i've done very well submitting my press releases to them. Link: Free Press Release - Online Press Release Distribution Service |

Just to add my sixpence or whatever.. I'm playing with basic search engine software (obviously nowhere near the big Gs standard), but so far am not even thinking about duplicate content (domain wise) as to my SE logic, so long as we're looking at different domains it really doesn't matter as your showing your customer exactly what they're looking for and hopefully fulfilling their requirement... |

If I get a decent response as a result of the freebie sites, I may go paid too(PR Web etc)
