Default question about protecting your own resell rights

hi

I'm trying to think ahead and nip any potential problem in the bud.

We want to give people the option of reselling our products--an option we'd obviously charge more for.

But what's to stop people from reselling our stuff when they haven't paid for the privilege?

What do folks here do to protect themselves against that possibility?

thanks.

Not much you can do with plagiarism, I'm afraid. Use clear warning signs, add copyscape protection, clearly state the rights in your materials, mention prosecutions and lawsuits, just make them think twice, at least on the subconscious level.

You may never escape dishonest people, just keep doing what you're doing and try not to think about it to much; I guess.

Suzanne,
There are things that can be done but it depends what kind of product we are talking about here... eBook, Scripts, Templates, or what ??

Ya! I don't think there is much you can do to stop someone who has your product from reselling it if they want to. For example if your product comes with a website( an exact copy of yours - plr, mrr) they can buy your product and just save your webpage to their hard drive and edit it and their in business pretty quick. I'm honest so if I see a great product that comes with rights I am happy to pay more for the right to have a ready made product that I can resell.

thanks for your responses!

James--I'm selling email packs for affiliates to use for opt-ins. I've already seen a couple of visitors do something skeevy to get over on us so my radar is up. (the majority of people who buy from us etc are honest though, so I need to remember that)
