How to get in the "Most Viewed" section of EzineArticles

Thought I'd share a powerful strategy that you can use to get in the "Most Viewed" section of EzineArticles.com.

As you probably know, at the bottom of each article inside EzineArticles.com, there is a section called "Most Viewed" and "Most Published".

I want to show you a simple way to get your article into these sections.

To get in the "Most Viewed" section, the first thing you're going to want to do is take the URL of your article and promote it on social bookmarking sites like Digg, Mixx, Delicious, etc... You can do this semi-automatically at SocialPoster.com

You can then share your article on Twitter, Facebook, FriendFeed and any other social networks you use frequently.

By doing this, you will increase the views of your article, pushing it into the "Most Viewed" section within your category. Once your article has been place in the "Most Viewed" section, it will be placed on every single article within that particular category.

That means a link to your article will be placed on thousands of articles within EzineArticles.com.

This is EXTREMELY powerful because not only will your article get more exposure but you now have an instant network of hundreds of internal links pointing to your article.

And this can make a HUGE difference in how the article ranks in Google.

Do you see where I'm going with this?

By getting your article either into the "Most Viewed" section or the "Most Published" section, you will get hundreds of instant backlinks, which in turn gives you a much higher chance for ranking in Google for your selected keyword phrase.

If you want to guarantee your spot in the "Most Viewed" section you can
use StumbleUpon advertising, which is just 5 cents per view. This is one of the simplest ways to get your article in the "Most Viewed" section. Plus, by using StumbleUpon, you're also driving lots of targeted traffic to your article and increasing your exposure.

Maybe something changed, but I don't even think many of the SB sites listed will allow you to bookmark an EZA article...they classify them as spam

There are plenty of ways to get those "views", and Jeremy is right, any "good" bookmarking site doesn't take Eza links PLUS once you get into the most viewed spot, it really doesn't do much for extra clicks--at least not in my experience (I had 10+ in the "most viewed", many in the top 5 and didn't get too much extra traffic, wasn't worth the time I invested at least).

      Digg:

This URL has been widely reported by users for one of the following reasons: being used to spam Digg's submission process, posting spam content, or posting off-topic content

Delicious took it, Mixx took it, FaceBook accepted it... That's all I tried.

        Hi Kim,

As far as I know you can't Digg an article from EzineArticles.

This makes me wonder if you're actually applying the "tips" you are sharing in this thread.

        All the best,

        Francois

Is this how SBs treat articles from all articles directories, or just EZA? Is it not worth my time to try and do social bookmarks for articles at goarticles, articlesbase, articlesnatch, etc?

(I'm new to the whole social bookmarking thing...)

Dude, I owe you a PM - I accidentally deleted the one you sent me because my box was full.

You can still bookmark to some of the "lesser" SB networks, but for SEO purposes, there are easier ways to do it...

If you get a chance, shoot me that PM again.

    Hi Kim,

Do you have any examples which you have done yourself? Do you have any before/after stats?

Do you have any solid evidence that the traffic would increase to your website?

Before I would spend 5 cents per click for the amount of hits it would tae in my niche, I would have to see more than just a clever theory.

Also, after a certain amount of internal links found, do you think the search engines are going to discount each additional link it finds from the same domain?

If you have any numbers on this, I'd love to hear them. If you don't want to post them in the thread, please send me a PM. Dont worry, I'm not gonna steal it for a product or anything.

    Kim,
Is your main goal to drive traffic with people clicking through your article or the backlinks moving your site higher in the search engines.

  • I still don't understand the fascination with EZA. I use it, just like the other article directories. It sends me a little traffic.

But I had a blog post get 1,500 views today out of nowhere. Didn't pay a dime. Didn't deploy any special strategies. Got lots of organic backlinks. Put about 17 affiliate links in the body of the post.

What's the big deal about EZA? Do people really make that much money with it?

The OP is talking about getting higher rankings in google, not increasing traffic to your site through EZA. The higher rankings will mean more organic traffic though.

Allen: I have done some research on this and found that the number of internal links didn't make all that much difference. I wasn't able to be totally scientific about it though, so you'll have to take it with a grain of salt.

A lot of claims were made in her post without a single bit of backup. Like how this "can make a huge difference in how your article is ranked in Google."

Are you absolutely sure about that? Show me!

I was agreeing with you. I've found that internal links don't add much value to the overall page ranking, but as I said, this is more an observation than an actual experiment. The most viewed articles on ezinearticles do not neccesarily rank better than they did before they got to that list.

I know, brother. The questions were to Kim.

And I'm not trying to be rude or confrontational, I just want to see the proof that this works before I would consider taking the time to do it.

    What I would do...

    1. Just send an email to your list, bring them to your articles!
    2. Or the evil way - use automated software like autopligg, bookmarked 1000 times and some how ezinearticles count it as view when the pligg site took a snapshot of it!

I probably should keep this to myself, but too late...!

Generally speaking would 500 stumbles per article be enough?

Would these links from the other articles be seen as backlinks by the search engines?
And if so your articles could also have the possibility of ranking?
