PayPal. I've got to say something GOOD about PayPal. & why you/I should keep them in IM

Hi All,

Here is something VERY good about PayPal I've got to share.

My Daughter, Tammy, WrightAgain, on the Warrior Forum is traveling on a shoe string and having the time of her life.

She, in the last few days has been to Argentina, Uruguay, Chili and will spend the next few days in Lima Peru before coming home.

Like I said it's a "shoe string" trip never-the-less good planning and traveling with friends to share expenses at hotels and transportation has let her enjoy the trip very much.

Just before she left, almost as an after thought I said, "Here, take my PayPal Debit card with you." She said, "No I won't need it, I've got my bank card and I've already confirmed that it will work in Peru ." I insisted she take My PayPal card and so she did.

Well, today in the Sheraton Hotel the ATM "ate" her card. There is no reason for this because it still has money on it. It just Ate the card and hotel management said there is no way to get it back.

A quick phone call to PayPal and they Temporarily Activated my card for use in Lima. I went to Tammy's paypal account, (she doesn't have a PayPal debit card) attached the Card that the ATM ate to her Paypal acct and paypaled money to my Account.

Tammy has money now.

That is good news about PayPal.

I am glad to hear of your daughter's journey, travel is the ultimate education.

Unfortunately, this does not affect my current lawsuit against PayPal. It is hard to believe the same company can simply drain a bank account because of an error,
months ago.

Good luck to your daughter, she will never forget this journey, and praise to you for supporting it. I know you are on pins and needles.

Agreed, paypal has always been there fore me. They've also allowed me to funnel my website proceeds in without having to markup my customer prices because of very high transaction fees or monthly service fees. I love paypal!

Some mornings it's nice to hear something positive about anything, thanks for the news. I did just have a small problem with my account, caused by me, that they were really quick and good at resolving.

But I'm really curious about this.

I thought you had to approve any paypal withdrawal from your account. How does that happen? I would appreciate knowing a few more details about this.

Until a few weeks ago, I also thought PayPal was wonderful. I have had an account for over 10 years with no problems.

Then all of a sudden, they put a "Limited" hold on my account, and they don't have to give you the details of what made them do it. It affects everything! You can't make payments- WSO's eBay, Membership Subscriptions, Hosting, and just about everything. Fortunately, I didn't have money in there for them to "hold".

Apparently, they do this quite often. Many people have lost access to their own money for 6 months! What bank could seize your money with no explanation!

Do a Google search on "Problems with PayPal", and you will be amazed at how many people are having major issues.

Anyway, if you aren't having any problems, that's wonderful. Just be aware that they can give you a problem at any time!
