Hail Warriors!
We all have our own "success stories". This would be a the perfect place to share and learn from each other. For starters, let me get the ball rolling... The thought of making money from Internet marketing never really occured to me - until quite recently. Well, let me start from the beginning. 1997 was the year of dotcoms and there was so much hype. Everywhere in the papers and on the news stock prices were soaring spawning overnight millionaires. But when I finally came out to work in 2000 with my degree tucked under my belt, dark clouds were looming in the sky and the dotcom crash had just begun. Over the next few years, I moved from sales (where I realised the power of a well written sales script) to IT (where I learnt everything I know about web programming) to data analytics and recently to marketing. Althought I left my programming job years ago, I would occasionally get nerdy fingers and develop this dire urge to make a website. And everytime that happened, i could hear my logical left brain go screaming "stop ****ing around and let's do something productive!" in my head. Since high school I've been making websites since the days of Geocities, but then I never really sold anything online. Back then, perhaps it was the news going around about Amazon.com and all the talk about hype that made me sceptical about Internet marketing. I was inspired by other internet marketers, like yourselves. I'm a man of science, and though I wasn't a believer then, I was determined to find out. So I put my sales, programming and marketing knowledge together and decided I was going to setup an online sales page and pump instant targeted traffic to it with AdWords. Would you believe I didn't even have an email squeeze page or even a ClickBank account! It's not the perfect Internet marketing business model, but when I finally got it up and running, sales came pouring in like crazy it wasn't even funny! I've never looked back since. If there was one piece of advice I wished I knew before I started, it would be that affiliates, email marketing and joint ventures should always be at the heart of your marketing strategy if you want to scale your business and succeed in the long run. So, what's your IM success story? ![]() Cheers Roy |

Hello,
my IM success story is getting my brother into the IM field after many failed career choices. He has never been happier or more successful. I grin from ear to ear every time he tells me he has a new customer. |

After I stopped trying to make a living telling others how to make money on the net and operated in other niche markets...
... I started making money and the rest is history as I'm now making a full time living from the net. TL |

I'll keep it short and sweet. After failing in brick and mortar businesses, I tried it online.
In late 2004 I bought $3.95 a month hosting, a $10 domain, and $200 of initial product inventory. I learned SEO and optimized the site. We made our first sale in a few weeks. 2 years later my wife was able to quit her teaching job because the site was doing so well. The next year I quit my job as a network admin. We now are into many different areas online. Life is good! |
