Thanks for the post.

As I've mentioned somewhere in this thread, I am creating a video and report (FREE) that'll try to "save the day" and shed light on the real money-making truths in IM.

What do you think?
Depends on what you can truth.

This is a very subjective thing for one. So I suggest you tell people at
the start of the video that this is your opinion and don't state it as
fact.

There is kind of an irony about stating so called myths because by doing
so, you are in fact perpetuating your own myth.

I try not to get too philosophical about this stuff but if you really sit
down and have one of those college "meaning of life" conversations that
I used to love as a kid, you can drive yourself crazy.

As I have gotten deeper into my marketing career (now semi retired) I
try to deal less and less with absolutes. It's a slippery slope that can
get you into a lot of trouble.

Ultimately, I now tell everybody..."test and see what works for you."

And while some may see it as a cop out, I look at it as not wanting to
limit somebody to certain things. If I believe something really isn't good,
I'll give my opinion, state it as such, but ultimately tell the person that
they have to see for themselves.

This comes from years of experience of being one of the most opinionated
marketers online. I truly believed, for the longest time, that my way was
the best way.

I've eaten a lot of humble pie since then.

Make sure your video itself doesn't deal in absolutes, unless you truly
believe something to be written in stone. And then, if you do, you better
have substantial proof to back it up.

Hope this helps.

just the other day... I was talking to a friend of mine, and he asked me what i did for a living. I told him briefly what I did as an Internet Marketer and his first response was:" Oh... so you spam and scam people?"

Geez...

The problem is... there are too many crappy products out there, almost 50-70% are crap.. agree? And its because of this hypey, scammy nature of IM products, the entire IM now has a foul name.

Think about it... how many times have we come across products that promise you can make money with

No list

No startup capital

No product

No website

Sounds familiar?

Truth is, you cant!!! You'll fail almost instantly.

And as such, as part of my list-building efforts and efforts to try and "save the day", I've decided to create a FREE VIDEO and maybe a report that actually warns people about the various IM Myths and Truths that they must be aware of.

You guys think this'll be great?

Regards
Bryan

The truth is you can!!! And actually succeed. Opps sorry you do need a product./service.

The point is I did this back in 1999 with $0 dollars and first month had made just under 300 dollars. I was hooked. Heck I did not even know what affiliate marketing or IM was. Did'nt even have a ebook, forum or mentor to use for reference. All I know was that once I figured out what a link farm was and they worked much like low level directories are working right now (funny how whitehat methods sometime turn to BlueFart and spam once it gets abused). I went until around 2002 then dropped out of IM for about 2 years but still received monthly checks. Then I discovered adsence ... this time I did not have a physical product but purchased a few extra domains and was off again. Things have changed quite a bit since then and it may be a little more difficult to do what I did first month on my model but I would be lying and it would be wrong to tell people it can't be done.

People can definitely do IM with no startup capital or website/host of their own it just take a little more 'thinking outside of the box'! I never went in the hole all my funding came from profit. If I needed a new software tool, hosting plan it was all purchased with profit.

As far as some people thinking IM is a bunch of scammers I just tell people that I work for commissioned sales online ... gets better responses.

Brokering Deals JVing that pitch is often used and quite frankly it can work if you can arbitrage/matchmake.

The only expert in the world that I know of that can delegate without a dime(ZERO MONEY), and, set on autopilot from day one(a start up business). I don't need to learn a new skill, or, any skill to dominate a market. Experts handle all my work while I goof off. (ATTENTION"The art of the goof off"is NOT FOR SALE, why would it be when I can implement myself)?

How about the idea that most gurus are holding out on the real info you need to be successful? Not sure if this is a myth so much as a marketing slant.
