Hello everyone, I have been at this IM thing for about a month now.
I have a domain up using a wordpress blog template with the homepage encompassing a relatively general aspect of my niche. I then created one landing page optimized for a specific keyword phrase. Next, I write an Ezine Article that is optimized for the same keyword phrase as my landing page and point one of the two links in the resource box to my homepage(using a keyword phrase I want my homepage to rank for as the anchor text) and then the other to my landing page itself (using the keyword phrase optimized in the article and on the landing page as the anchor text). THEN I social bookmark each Ezine Article as it gets published and build links to each of those articles by posting a slightly spun version of the article to 5 other article directories with the links in the resource box pointing back to the original Ezine Article. Then rinse and repeat with a new Ezine Article till I get where I want to be in the SERPS. Does this sound like something that could be effective? I have 56 ezine articles pointing to my landing page at the moment, all optimized for the same keyword, with the same keyword in the anchor text. Unfortunately, I do not have any of the valuable keyword research tools at my disposal as I do not have the seed money for them, so I located my keywords using the Google keyword research tool and simply checking competition in quotes. I dominate when I search for my competition in quotes (my various articles and back links to the articles occupy the top 8 spots, with my actual landing page ranked 13) However, without quotes, the top spot is occupied by a PR 5 site that is not optimized for the keyword phrase, and my top article is on page 3. I just want to make sure I am on the right track. Mind you I cannot afford any of the paid tools for spinning articles or mass article submission. But when I know for a fact what I am doing is working, I will be able to pump out about 10 articles a day on Ezine. Appreciate any guidance!! |

Yes, it sounds like you're on the right track...
In addition to bookmarking, you may also want to consider building some high PR backlinks to your main site, landing pages and some of your articles as well. I suggest looking into Angela's monthly backlink packages (very inexpensive). If you want to semi-automate the process (highly recommended) you should look into the Linking Loophole software. Social bookmarking, submitting your RSS feeds AND building high PR backlinks to your web properties is a good foundation. |

High PR backlinks will help you move up rankings faster. Mass backlinks with low PR will help you more with Yahoo/Bing.
You're on the right track. I'd focus more attention on your backlink sources. |

Yupz, you are on the right track till now. Keep working with RSS feeds and building high PR backlinks.
Uhm, if you need some free tools for spinning articles, you can search via Google. There are a lot of free service for articles spin, such as SpinProfit, and some sort of that. It can help you since it's free. But, still you need to do some modification and supervision, in case there are some misspelling or something not match. -Malik |

Appreciate the replies all.
In regards to Angela's, is the premise to get that for EACH landing page on your site? or for the home page? or just whatever you want to build back links for? Also, I haven't touched RSS feeds yet. Do I simply just post the URL of my page and the URL of each article I write to sites like feedage? Or is there more to it than that? |

You can add web2.0 properties into the mix for high pr backlink. For each of your pages or articles do a ring of web2.0
Optimise a squidoo lens, hubpages, wet paint, zimbio and get a blog on the actual wordpress.com domain as a sub for each keyword. Dont reciprocal the links just one way, this will boost your rankings a couple of pages if you hit it hard. Obviously Bookmark and Ping everything you can. Great Tip: Stack your RSS feeds on Yahoo Pipes and when you update all properties you only have to ping the Yahoo Pipes address instead of everyone, saving time and linking it all up. Add your pages into a few google reader/igoogle/any google accounts and feedburner to increase rankings overall. God, i should charge you for this, hahahaha. |

Yeah you are doing the right thing but if you want to take the first position for that keyword consider using goarticles, blogger, weebly, prolog.org, hubpage and the likes. You can make blogger ( sincere there will be no ads showing up) as the main site and link to it from the others. You should also consider Angela and Paul's backlinks service and James' bookmarking service.

Alright, excellent information everyone.
The gist I have gotten is that I can continue doing what I am doing with ezine article submission, write 10 or so articles a day, then when each article is published, socially bookmark and ping the article, then build links to those articles using the top 5 alternative article directories. As well as that, find as many web 2.0 properties as I can, (squidoo, weeby etc) and optimize one article in each of them for my keyword, and link them back to my landing page as well. Look into a service such as angela's and use it to build links to my landing page monthly. Then last but not least, the RSS feeds. Sorry, I am still kind of confused as to how the whole RSS feed thing works. With my ezine articles for instance, do I have an RSS feed that directs to my author page covering all my articles or something?; And then I post the URL of my author RSS feed to all the feed sites I can find? |
