Default Is Blogspot Now The Preferred Platform Over Wordpress?

This is some interesting reading with some great takeaways and info about Blogger.com, wordpress, Squiddo, Hubpages etc....

"There is always lots of talk about what “web 2.0″ platform actually ranks better in the SERPS…and of course , it’s constantly changing as Google slaps Squidoo or Hubpages etc.
Everyone has a theory, but not a lot of people have hard data…until right now that is."

I personally like Blogspot. It's quick and easy to set up, even if it doesn't have as many fancy features.

Great information.

I have a lot of auto blogs running and building backlinks to money sites. Half are Blogger. So I would agree with the article this is a great platform. I also notice if I point one at a new site, it will be indexed pretty fast.

Thanks for posting.

Moneysoapbox,
I used to use Blogger.com more years ago but seeing as Google own it I believe it only makes sense that they will let you index and rank quicker.

Rob,
I would say the source is pretty darn good as the guys at imblueprint.com are very reliable. Hey another site that I started using for building links is Traffic-Bug.com
It's worth checking out and in endorsed by the guys from the 30 Day Challenge.

If you don't have hosting then blogger.com is preffered over wordpress.com but if you can get hosting then hosted wordpress is much better platform and you can do lot's of stuff with SEO like all-in-one SEO pack and similar stuff.

Blogger does seem to be a bit better now for indexing and ranking.

I do my hosted sites in WordPress but use BlogSpot for supplemental blogs.

This is an interesting article I read today about which web 2.0 platform performed the best in a test using 60k different keywords. They have Blogspot as the big winner - "For a keyword that has a web 2.0 platform in the top 10 organic results, it’s almost 3x more likely to be blogspot.com than anything else!"

I have been building links to a blogspot blog for weeks now just as a test and... nothing so far. Maybe it's because the keywords are more competitive than I thought, but I don't think so.

I always recommend blogspot to my mentees. Later on, when they get it, they can start using wordpress.
