Default Google Analytics - Basic Question

I know I should be using this but it's overwhelming to me. Would appreciate a point in the right direction from Warriors that use Google Analytics (GA).

- I mainly want to track whether a visitor that clicks on an ad (google ads, banner ads, offline classifieds via tracker link) goes on to purchase a product. Can GA do this?

- Is it a huge learning curve? I've had enough of them!

- Anyone had experience outsourcing the set up and management of GA? Is it expensive? Has it been cost effective?

- How easily can GA be integrated? Many of my sites use a platform that doesn't allow php, asp or mysql - only html and javascript etc.

- What's the difference between GA and Website Optimizer?

Many thanks,

Phil.

GA is very easy to setup. It gives you code you just paste into your html. If you use Wordpress there are several plugins for it as well.

I thought it was a little confusing at first. But I just followed the directions to sign up and it was actually pretty easy. I took less than ten minutes. Copy the code to place on every page you want to track, and don't forget to "activate" the account on the last page.

Good luck.

I used another system for years before I used GA. More so I PAID for that system which was junk compared to GA.

GA will look a bit clunky at first but you will get used to it. I believe there is a flash tutorial that google provides. I would try and set it up yourself. This is a tool you want to be good with as you will probably use it for all your other sites in the future.

Yes, it's EASY to set up! You don't need to outsource it. Believe me, I like things simple and this really is.

It's pretty easy to setup, just follow the instructions from Google

I think you may need conversion tracking set up as well if you want to track all the way through to the purchase page.
