Need Some Beta Testers - Automatically Get More Traffic and Track It

Hey Warriors,

I need some beta testers for a new web 2.0 service I got coming out, literally just worked out a bunch of bugs and now will begin testing it, however, I would love for you guys to help test this application.

How it Works:

It is a URL Shortener, you simply place your URL in the box, shorten it, and then our system will automatically promote your URL.

What I want to Test:

When you create an account, we track your statistics, you can see how much traffic you getting, and from where it is coming from.

What Our Goal is:

A simple URL Shortener, that has a flip side... It Promotes, and promotes well. You can track all the promotion, and it takes two seconds to set it up.

Tester Requirement:

Make a Link --> Recommend making an account to track

That is it. Watch Traffic Come in.

Yes, the design is pretty horrific and its being changed, this is just functionality testing.

Sign up went easily - I like being able to shorten links and track hits. I have worked with another similar site and it became ever so slow as more folks signed up and links were generated. Do you have a solution for this "potential problem"?

I would say over the weekend would provide a reasonable test to see the quality of traffic produced.

Yeah I did register first but then tried adding the same link but using the custom link field and that didn't work but it could be I was adding the same link? I could not see where to delete the first one so I could then add it again. Perhaps you need a delete or edit button for the links (or is it there and I can't see it?).

Anyway, I will leave that link as it is for now as there have been a couple of hits already

I believe we put a restriction on duplicate links from the same user, this cold be the case, I will take note of the deleting and have that added, thanks for the input!

I can manually change the link if you would like? Just shoot me what you want it to say after the /

A Bit About Promotion:

Just those that are wondering... basically after you submit a link, over 48 hours the link will receive promotion via social bookmarking, and then placed into a keyword density article, released over a network of article sites.

Thank you! I signed up today and submitted my links. It should record all traffic that comes in, whether it's from your service our own promotional efforts, right? If so, its great to have an individual link tracking tool.

I wasn't asking about custom tags, but changing the target URL.

For example, if you enter a link and mis-type the URL, you're stuck. Somebody adds the tag 'wordpress' then enters a url 'http://wordpresss.orgg', it can't be changed. That's my biggest beef with most link shrinkers -- you can't edit the target URLs.

As a suggestion, it would be nice to have some kind of checks done so if a redirect ever gets a 404 error, then whomever created that link would be sent an email with a note saying they need to update that link. You could also allow a list of "default" URLs that someone could list with their account so any 404 errors would be replaced with a random selection from that list. At least it wouldn't be a totally dead link that way. Not necessarily useful, but better than nothing, eh?

If you want something for premium members, collect click stats and let people get charts and graphs from them. Allow multiple links for the same target URLs and then compare stats for them side-by-side.

First time I'm working on a saturday lol but were adding features such as:

Editing of links
Demographic Results
Title Tag Creation

We want to work out all the functionality before we install the design, I believe the next update won't happen until Tuesday

So if there are any other suggestions please shoot them at me so we can enhance the service as much as possible

In regards to the traffic, in our initial tests traffic starts gradual and then proceeds to spike as all the automation kicks in, were hoping all is the same for you guys.

Our tests showed 250-500 uniques after a two week period, the conversion on this traffic to free offers was about 4 percent hopefully the same will exist for everyone.

Lastly when our secret sauce kicks in we saw targeted traffic from articles, direct mails, and ad networks. Approx 250 so far after a week.

Basically we want this solution to produce traffic and high quality traffic or were not much of a service so watch ur stats let us know of any conversions it would be greatly appreciated.

I got to help out with some web designs, but just want to say thanks again for all your comments

Since you asked...

how about some way for us to get a list of all the bookmarked links urls from our submission...

( some bookmarks have related RSS feeds )

...so that we can ping them also?

Were beta testing, bookmarking took a little bit longer then expected, but if you google, "clickzr.com", you can see the bookmarks being made now, so traffic should be coming.

Allow multiple links for the same target URLs and then compare stats for them side-by-side. -David

Our tests showed 250-500 uniques after a two week period, the conversion on this traffic to free offers was about 4 percent hopefully the same will exist for everyone. Lastly when our secret sauce kicks in we saw targeted traffic from articles, direct mails, and ad networks. Approx 250 so far after a week. Basically we want this solution to produce traffic and high quality traffic or were not much of a service so watch ur stats let us know of any conversions it would be greatly appreciated. I got to help out with some web designs, but just want to say thanks again for all your comments
