Default If you could automate a task, what would you automate? (top idea gets the script)

Hey Warriors,

So a PHP friend of mine owes me a favor and I am cashing it in :P.

I have a few ideas for scripts and programs I would like made, but
I figured I could throw it out to the WF to see what you guys can
come up with.

What task would you like automated? What task do you wish you
could just click a button on a piece of software and it did it for you?
If you had a bot that could complete any type of manual tasks for
you online, what would you have it do?

This little idea contest is simple. If I like your idea and I use it, you
will get a copy of the software for free.

It can be simple ideas to automate those mundane tasks you don't like
having to do every day or it could be as complex as you like. Any types
of tasks that can be automated (most tasks can be).

Looking forward to what you warriors can come up with.

For the me the ultimate task is backlinks.

So I want backlinks posted to

squidoo
hubpages
blogger
wordpress
weebly
zimbio
etc

After it's created me that backlinks, it will then produce a URL report
that then would be bookedmaked using all the social bookmarks all at the click of the button. When it comes to automating, interner users eat this stuff up. Look at all the backlink wso!

I realse senuke is a good one that does this but bit expensive.

I would like a script that could keep track of all my sites as far as what pages have been indexed and where they rank in the SE's. It would be nice if it was a server script, so I wouldn't have to run it on my desktop and maybe upset the search engines. :-) Perhaps it could be setup so it wouldn't do too many searches at once, but spread them out over time. It would also be nice if I could just type in the domain and it would go and spider all the pages and add them for me.

I don't know if this is something you would be interested in, but it was the first thing I could think of that I would really find useful for my business that I don't already have.

Hey Michael, definitely agree backlinks are huge. The niche is crazy
big (you can see I am in it by looking at my sig :P).

Automating web 2.0 sign up and then bookmarking the pages is
definitely something I could get scripted out and make a program for
it, but there is already many programs out there that do this. So I
would like something a bit more unique, need to think of a twist.

A comprehensive domain checking script for all your domains? So like
PR checker, index check, backlink check, Keyword density checker,
validate xml sitemap check, google analytics stats or awstats integration,
domain age, meta tags, alexa rank, website speed test, Etc.. I will stop
there you get the idea. You could setup alerts for keywords to know
when they are ranking in google or have moved up or down in ranks.
Just aggregate all these stats on one page.

Something like that?

Yes, that would be great! My first thought was just checking where my pages ranked in Google by keyword, but all the extras you've added would make it a dynamite piece of software!

There are many sites and people making programs for it. In fact here is
an example a guy here in the WF who has a wso going for it.

So if I were to build a backlink oriented program, it would need to have
a bit of a twist.

For checking what your site is ranking for in google, you can't just
plugg in your url and out comes the keywords it's ranking for. No
software can do this because it would take a supercomputer to run
through all the different words to try and find your url. So you have
to enter in keywords for it to check for you. It could be made so you
could jot down keywords for the url and setup alerts that let you know
when your keyword has gone up or down or reached top page (you
could set the parameters for the alert).

Here's the "twist" you would need for backlinking software

The software would work and work smoothly without having to be a programmer or wait for all the bugs to be worked out
It would be simple and quick to setup
There would be no learning curve (okay a small one)
It would not require 3 hours and 10 steps to produce a set of links
It would have proxies and decaptha solvers built in
It would register and and confirm accounts at bookmarking sites
It would produce spun articles
It would be a one off price
Okay, I would do monthly if most of above were in place and the membership was under $50 a month though if it were under $30 you could rule the world...okay, I just woke up from my dream...

What about just software that would register and confirm accounts at bookmarking sites?

Are you saying the current web 2.0 page makers have too many
bugs/are hard to work/have to high of a learning curve? I personally
havn't bought any of them so I can't pass any judgment.

There are quite a few software wso's going right now that will
register and confirm accounts for bookmarking sites. The link juicer
dot com owner is here on the warrior forum (Peter Adamson I believe).

How about something simple.

I'd like a script that will do the magic Ezinearticles search for me for my keywords and then steal the article keywords and list them out

So it would do (google search):

acne treatment site:ezinearticles.com "This article has been viewed 2000..199999" "Article Submitted On: * *, 2009"

And then give me the results of what SEMRush would give me...

Like this...

Which normally I do by doing the google search, taking the top few articles and plugging them into semrush

Well the thing about semrush is it just shows you rankings from what
it knows off of the last time it's database was updated for those
keywords. So it is off many of the times on what a url is ranking for
at the moment. You would also not be able to check any newer articles
with this method because semrush wouldn't have them in their database
yet. So if you wanted to check the newest hot articles, it wouldn't work.

But I could probably make a bot that uses the search term to find hot
articles, uses google adwords tool to find keywords for the url, run
those keywords through a ranking checker to check current rankings
that url is holding for the keyword list we generated.

If it worked properly, you would just input the search term and then
put a number for how many articles out of the results you want checked.
Then click go and it would be able to pop back article url, keywords and
rankings in se's for those keywords.

Hey Benj - though Im not too interested in vying for the script, I just gotta say - that's a great response tactic you got there! Bet your little old response button is going beep, beep... nice one will keep that for future ref.

And my auto request...a web page designer that can pump out the coolest pages...without having to go thru the learning curve of Dreamweaver etc...something my limited experience with HTML etc can pick up and do within 1/2 day or so.

Response tactic? Not following ya.

You want a wysiwyg editor with pre-set templates? :P Try a CMS like
wordpress. You could pick up how to use wordpress or joomla within
a 1/2 a day.

I mentioned this on the forum before, not sure if anyone took it up or not...

Make a TOOLBAR that searches Google, Bing, Yahoo all at the same time auto-filling in each search box for the respective search engines, and put my affiliate code behind each one of them so if someone clicks on any ads, I get the money!

Unless I am reading this wrong, Goggle analytics does exactly that. Tells me what keywords & in what position that I rank with them at any given moment.

You just need to put the anaylitic code on each page. (Use edit>find>replace '</body>' to 'code</body>' to do it at one bang in every page (typically headers and footers and nav files don't have the 'body' tag as they are parsed, and any properties for them SHOULD be in the CSS; but double check to be sure you are not putting the code on a page 3 or 4 times. Lol)

in WP there is a place to put it and it is auto added to every page you have and make in the future. It is a plug-in, i think.

long shot for you but would love to get some sort of script that would re-write all my content or captura my competitors content to my site who was in the same niche or site then re-writes it so it would be new unique content and not duplicant also adds to wordpress blogs other things such as rss feeds and you tube videos if need be so when i came onto the site the script has done all the new posts and made up a complete site without the human touch.

or just a script that would also backlink after all that above to web 2.0 properitys, but sorry!! i can be a dreamer at times

Ok, so then the site would just need google analytics installed for the
script to be able to show keyword placement. Otherwise users would
need to input keywords to be searched.

An auto rewriter? Lots of these out there, but it is so hard to make one
that gives you human readable content back. The only ones that are
semi-successful are the spinners were you have to make a seed article
first. Even those are hard to read. Basically in order to do this right, one
would need to come up with a system that can change the words in the
article but still leave it readable. Right now they're trying to do it just
by using synonyms for words, but it doesn't really work out. So at this
point I don't have an idea for a system that could produce human readable
content.

The rest, adding the article to web 2.0 sites and your site, is easy.

No other ideas warriors? Come on, what kind of tasks that you do
online would you like automated? What kind of program or software
would you like to see come out?

Hi Benjamin,

In answer to your questions -

yes-I've been waiting for bugs to clear from a previously mentioned software since August/September

yes-one I bought last week and took Saturday afternoon to digest has about 10 steps plus separate costs for adding proxies and decaphas solving; and

yes-did I just mention spending the afternoon learning the software/system where I ended up with 16 links? Excellent customer support though.

Yes, I have these "minor" miracles running as WSO's, I purchased them looking to maximize the two hours I have after work in the evenings but they end up being more work and frustration.

Admittedly, I haven't tried link juicer though I have read the sales copy a few times.

Here's another -

a plugin or ap that allows you to manage all your sites in one place so tasks like adding a plugin or needing to make a universal change is less of a time robber.

Ben,
This does already exist - Article Spinning - is it a killer tactic or a waste of time?

No synonyms or anything ... Fully controlled by a human..

I'll take a stab at it. Something that could take a main keyword and then pick out the low comp/higher demand kws(based on pre-determined criteria); Take those keywords and find the most profitable products to sell to those visitors and report back with info; The program would choose a certain amount of keywords(pre-determined) and then register domain names with the keywords in it, adding something to the beginning or end of the domain to be able to get one with the chosen kws(ie. keywordphrasetips.com, mykeywordphrase.com); Add the domains to my webhost account and then install WP on all new domains from my control panel.

Ready to just add content and promote each site. This would be helpful to me.

I would like a script that could keep track of all my sites as far as what pages have been indexed and where they rank in the SE's.
Linda,

This software now exists! It is called "Market Samurai" and it is awesome!
I bought it a couple of months ago and it knocked my socks off.

It tracks absolutely anything is terms of page rank, back-links, and so much more I think it is grossly underpriced.

Check it out, just Google it!
