I am new and would like to buy a website but I have been reading many cases where the buyer gets scammed into paying more than it worth so I would really appreciate if you could evaluate this website
flippa.com/auctions/78052/Spy-Equipment-Ecommerce-Site and share your opinion on how much it really worth |

You need to evaluate it. Don't leave it up to us. Do your due diligence. You need independent verification of traffic and income. You need to know where the traffic is coming from and how much, if any they spend to get it. What are all their monetization methods for the site? will you be able to use the same or similar ones?
I'm definitely not an expert in domain flipping, although there are quite a few folks around here that are. The above are things that I'd want to verify before I bought a site. |

according to
websiteoutlook.com =" spy4less.com Estimated Worth $1226.4 USD " here are some other sites that give you an estimate of what a site is worth. keep in mind that these are most based on their ad revenues than the whole website. but use them for getting a general idea. i hope it helps. good luck. Website Worth Calculator >> Calculate your website value !!! http://www.dnscoop.com you can also use these sites to get some info about ranking and estimated traffic and etc. |

thank you for the advices; I've already done some searches on this site such as looking at each number here
cubestat.com/spy4less.com but as satrap said; these are all automated reports and the price/worth values generated by these tools are unlikely to be the true value so here we (newbies) need your help to start with thank you again |

I dont use any of the above said tools to analyse a website for purchse.
What I look are: 1. How the site is designed and quality of content 2. How the site is monetized and weather I can stand that business model 3. Whats its pagerank 4. Claimed traffic sources 5. Equating the claimed no.of visits per month to actual stats I gave a brief look to that listing and If I were you "I wont BUY it" |

When I do a Flippa listing, I upload proof of income, traffic stats, referrers, Google serps, etc. This guy hasn't uploaded anything. Get proof of income and proof that the traffic isn't some crap purchased traffic.

Do not use any of the evaluation sites mentioned in this topic to judge the true value of a website. One of them is telling you they're based on ad revenue. The hell these websites know what the ad revenue is of that website. They're just nonsense.
There is no proof of income in the auction, there's no proof of the traffic. There's no proof of the person even using AdWords to drive traffic. What this person is basically selling is a website that he/she can't provide proof of what he/she is telling you the site makes. Therefore, unless he/she provides proof of what's said in the auction, walk away. ![]() Or go for it and cross your fingers that it might work :P |

This result says a lot.
Semrush Not ranking for any good terms and it's traffic ranks is nowhere near a $1600 a month profit earner. I wouldn't bother with it as there's a lie in there somewhere. |

With any new site you need to check its stats via keywords its ranking for and more If your going to fork over a few thousand spend the few hours it takes to research and do a background check before committing to the program. Most of the sites on Flippa are junk. I tend to go with the ones that are sites not even launched yet but have killer graphics and an awesome program to back it up. I know I can make a profit with those.

To me, 90% of the value of a site is the traffic it attracts. If you are going to spend money make 100% sure that the traffic that you are buying is good ongoing targetted traffic. If you cannot do this do not buy it!

the seller claims that its major traffic is by PPC
so i assume there are virtually no organic traffic (or just very few) it won't worth much |

More importantly will be your experience with running a dropshipping business, and how much of that revenue is profit.
The quality of the products themselves and the dropshipper is far more important than the site - which is basically a shopping cart, with no organic traffic. Looks like a case of "If you have to ask - you cant afford it" Good luck... |

I was thinking to buy this one but after some more searches and after reading your feedbacks here in this thread, I need to think again.
Thank you all. |

It would seem to me that if he is generating the income that he claims (with no proof offered) he would have enough cash flow to build and expand this site as he claims that it should be..
"Caveat emptor" let the buyer beware. If this is a niche you want to get into, explore the sources for the products and have your own site built. Might be cheaper and generate more $$$$ |
