Anyone else noticed the rash of "public domain" questions today? All question are by new people here - many registered on the same day - and all questions are juvenile level. Something's up - just not sure yet what it is. kay |

Right - and they all joined on Nov 3 and are all making their first posts today asking the same questions??? Oh please! Each one of these "names" logs in only long enough to post a question and then is gone. |

Aloha Kay I've also noticed the same thing, as well as the usual bunch of "yes I agree with that" responses within threads that add nothing of value. Again posted by new members with a history of similar posts. I usually attribute these as being attempts at getting the post count high enough to post a WSO or classified advertisement. I hope it's nothing more than that - this forum is of immense value to me (and thousands of other IMers) and I would hate to see it become the target of spammers or a DOS attack! Fortunately the mods do an excellent job of weeding out the undesirables, hopefully they'll nip this in the bud before it becomes a problem. All the best... Bill |

I just went to see what these were about, Kay - and apparently they have been deleted. There are a few posts from recent joiners in the OT about why their post count is so low after making a gazillion posts in just a few days, so I guess we can figure it out from there. There was another post earlier asking this same question as well - probably on the second page before post deletions occurred, LOL. Sounds like "pre-product launch" to me. Well, so much for creating curiosity. Someone missed the 101 on that one, eh? |

I also got a few PM's from people that had never posted in here before and just joined. They were trying to get me to buy their stuff. Maybe just someone new, maybe not, I sure hope it's not an attack like you say ![]() Thanks, Randy Thomas |

I started a thread about the same thing earlier. I finally reported one and pointed out that there were several other names that joined the same day and were posting similarly. All I can think of is perhaps someone was trying to generate interest and then someone would come in and launch a new public domain product? Tina |

New members are supposed to have the PM function blocked. Probably a concerted effort to test the forum in some way, or some half-arse seo company sending it's minions en masse for backlinks at some point. |

Not sure if this is related to what I saw yesterday I believe, but several people were posting on a topic and one of the mods posted an answer asking for a PM why several users were posting using the same computer(IP address) I assume. If I find the post I will provide a link to it. It wouldn't be the first time a member has had multiple accounts for the purpose of promoting their own product. |

I'd kind of half-noticed them, quickly, but failed to appreciate they were all about "public domain" stuff. Well spotted, Kay.

Every weekend this place turns to a circus or a freak show!!! Sometimes I wonder if Chriss Angel is joining us!! Since we're at strange things: one question for you senior users: Is it allowed for 1 user account be accessed by 2 or more persons? Say... partners? Say I create 1 account and it gets used by me and my partner? |

and you are willing to accept the consequeces of another person posting in your name, then it should be ok. However, if you are posting from different computers and locations, I'd recommend that you notify the helpdesk to get your IP addresses "whitelisted". Of course, the best thing to do would be to encourage your partner to open their own account. John

King Edward is a potato head? Huh, who would have thunk it. Kudos to Thomas at the help desk - he deleted these suckers as fast as he could find them! I do wish some of these new marketing wonder members would go back under their rocks. Must admit this is a new "method" - spend time creating a dozen or more accounts on one day and come back next week and make yourself look stupid in all of them. Interesting business plan. Perhaps they should try for clue schtick?

Glad you brought this up - I followed a search thread back here yesterday and found a PM waiting for me. Here it is. wettag Banned Join Date: Nov 2009 Posts: 0 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Guys, I'm not trying to force a product on you or something, because this baby sells itself!! No wonder it is number1 in Clickbank's Money&Employment category. I'm talking about "Google Sniper" which is probably the only IM ebook that's actually worth buying. Check it out here: http:// As you can see it's $77, so it might still be expensive for some IM newbies, so this is for you guys: This discount is only for DP members(!!) and only for the first 100 buyers. Take it for just $15(!!) from here: http:// It contains the ebook and the 8 videos that come with Google Sniper. Hope you like it, enjoy! |

As a new member of Warrior Forum I just want to say that this is the best forum I have found on the subject of IM in the 3 years I´ve been in this business. I´m surprised I didn´t find it sooner. As for all the new post blasting offers, some people are just new to the business and don´t know any better. They bought some cheezy ebook that told them to find 5 forums and post in them 5 times a day and you´ll get your links indexed by Google. I did the same thing when I first started until I realized that doing that is the online equivilent to being at a social event and shouting to everyone in the room, "Hey, come buy what I´m selling." Not the way to get invite again. Personally, I´ve been digging through the forum looking for places I can contribute some value and to my surprise I´m finding more value than I could contribute at this time. What a great forum this really is. And not a single drop of spam in my box! Now that being said, will I introduce my own WSO in the future. Maybe, once I find something that I think would be useful to this group of people. But until then let's not be too hard on the noobs. They don´t know any better and need someone to show them the way to good etiquette online. A private message to whisper to them that it´s not cool to do that is all it takes sometimes for someone to get the point. If they continue then report them and get ém out of here. This place is too valuable to let the hacks in. If you are a new person reading this, take note: It´s rude to scream about your offer in this place. There´s advertising forums for that ,that you can shout till you keyboard wears out and still not make a sale or learn anything. Take the time to read the rules of the forum and respect them and I´m sure you´ll be welcome. Look forward to meeting more of you Warriors and growing and learning together. Frank Tocco |

I got this one too, and actually sent George from Google Sniper a PM and FB message just to let him know. Seemed fishy to me too. The link went right to a paypal acount and was selling for $15. Only the Profile Name was 11-06-2009 02:22 PM tubtic Are people actually that dumb to fall for this kind of trick? Tacky... Quote:
