Hi, Yeah i finally came to the point when i fully understand that reading ebooks wont gonna make me money and action is the only way to make the marketing dream come true ... I have everything that it takes, 2 YEARS worth of knowledge, I've read every Internet marketing book on this planet, you name it ... so i have the big picture and i'm not a noob who don't know what affiliate marketing is all about back in April i launched my very first affiliate website and i was so excited, Wooow i'm doing it ! But i was taking less action every day till i stopped promoting the site, i spent more than 400$ on content and design and SEO on that project and i end up selling the site last month for 310$ on Flippa ... and the website did not make me a penny btw . i said to my self OK, that was a mistake i got into a big niche and it was so competitive but i learned from my mistake so it wont gonna happened again, so 2 weeks a go i started an other affiliate site in a smaller niche (very small comparing to the first one) i bought the domain name build the site outsourced the content and set back and watch my self doing nothing, now I'm seeing my self doing the same mistake again, spending money without taking any action to make my investment back and make a profit ! and the biggest problem that I'm 100% aware that I'm not taking action and what I'm doing (which is nothing) is wrong, No, it's not because of the lack of planing, because i read some where that if you don't know exactly what you have to do you might be taking less action because of the fact that you don't know what you should do next, but NO, i have everything planned on a peace of paper but i just keep staring at it everyday without taking any action, PLEAS be honest with me, AM I SICK ? Everyday i wake up and i say OK today I'll start and i turn on my computer and i keep looking at my desktop back round then i log in to the IM and i start surfing around forums and watching YouTube videos, PLEAS GUYS! i need the advice of somebody who have been where i'm right now ... i really wana start taking action but i just can't, i feel sow weird really, this Internet business really helped me to see this part of my personality, which i really wana get rid of ! Sorry if the post is a bit long, but i thaught that i might feel a bit better if i spoke out like this and say everything on my minde . HELP |

Honestly, I'm not sure how someone would help you get self-discipline. You have to be the one to decide it's time to get it into gear and just do something. I find it easier to focus on what I need to get done if I write a list of what I want to accomplish each day. Break large tasks down into smaller ones so they don't seem so overwhelming. Stay away from YouTube and whatever sidetracks you until you've done a certain amount of work for the day. Tina |

I'm in the exact same boat. I've been a taking-action rut for quite a few weeks, and it's aggravating to say the least. I need to find my motivation again somewhere.

You said you are good in planning. YOu also said that you already have your website up and running. I suggest planning your days with day to day goals that you have to meet. Try working on traffic generation, if you see sales coming in and you see that you are making money, you will iget motivated more. I know it's difficult in the beginning. Stick to your goals, that is my top advice.

Just over a year ago I was in this same position and in fact I was bordering bankruptcy. I had a son to care for and a whole pile of bills to pay, and after spending a year trying everything I could online, nothing was providing an income for me. In fact I was spending more money online trying to make a living than I was earning. At that stage I was a relatively new person on WF and had no credibility but something hit me one day and that was to do what you have done here. I posted a very long winded post on the forum explaining my own feelings that i was in fact a failure. Within a couple of days I had hundreds of views on that post and nearly as many replies. In fact within a couple of weeks that thread became (and still is) one of the most viewed threads on the WF. The information and encouragement I received from people I didnt even know, changed the way I felt, but there was still that resounding philosophy of "If its going to be, its up to me" staring me in the face. I knew though at that time and for the sake of my sons future that I had to give it one more shot. I created 3 products (2 software and 1 eBook) and never looked back, BUT let me tell you this! Even after that final decision not to quit, it took another 11 months to start making money online. Last month (Aug/Sep) I did my first $2000 month and I have now built an asset worth as much as $15k. If I had not posted that long winded thread in the first place, ad then listened to and taken action on the advice I received from it, I would not be where I am today. In all honesty I think KDH has the best advice so far! What he (or she) says in their post is accurate. What would you do if you knew unconditionally that it would return you a million dollars? The method that I used to get me $2000 a month is so simple I should have done it a long long time ago, and now that I have, the rewards have spoken for themselves. Sure I still have lots to learn and do, but this money has certainly taken away that question "Is it really possible to make money online?" I am now about to launch my simple method in a WSO so others can benefit from it, and I truly hope they do. There is no better feeling than to open Paypal in the morning to find people have paid money into your account. |

Hello Host32, I was in your boat about 11 years ago. I was trying network marketing though. I then realized that I was making others rich and myself more poor. My self motivation came from the fact I lost my job. Once that happened I was at my lowest point (so I thought). I then thought I would make money online. I started some of the newest crazy stuff you could have ever seen at that time, but they all failed (well one site did make about $250). One thing that helped me was I did know HTML code (no php but basic html). So I could go to what was then tripod (a free web host) and make simple websites. Now weebly is a great place to go it's drag and drop. Then it hit me, why don't I write an ebook about what not to do in MLM. So I did, then I went to some free forums and blogs and kindly ask people if they would review my site and I would give them a free copy if they would review it as well. Those people did that for me. Then I had testimonials to put on the site. Then I asked those people if they would JV the report. They said yes and sent it to their list of people. The rest is history really and of not much importance here so let me get back to helping you. Why don't you write an ebook about your past experience. I know a lot of people would love to have the knowledge you now have about what not to do. Then find some blogs and forums and ask some people to review it. Give them a copy of your book (locked up of course). Here is where the trust comes in, it's a big step to hand your book over to other people for free. The though process is "They will take my book and make their own money". Well that could happen, but just have trust and faith it don't. One important info is this, contact people in the same area you are writing about. Most of the time those people are seen as competition, however, the fact is, they can be your best JV partner ever. So, get up Monday morning, and start fresh. Don't think about this over the weekend. Go have fun. Then Monday start writing your ebook. Put some time into it. Don't just write 1 page or even 20 pages, write a 50 page or longer book. It may take you a month, but it will be worth it. Then set up a website yourself. Don't pay someone just now, just make something and then put a Paypal link on it for people to pay. Then send them the ebook. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Randy Thomas |

Hey there - look at everything you do online as a test - it's business so dont take it personally - you just gotta find the gold vein! My point is - if you try something and measure it and it gives no result - move on. Its great that you done it, give yourself a pat if you need, but move on. Its not personal, you just havent given your prospect enough evidence to convince them that they need your product. Been through exactly the same - frustrating as hell - just move on and....dont give up! |

but actually there is some stuff that you don't know about my situation : i can't write my own sales letter since I'm not a native, I'm from Morocco and Paypal did not allow any sending and receiving activities from here, hhh i phoned them once and asked if there is anything i can do to have a fully functional paypal account and they said no, so if i created a paypal account all what i can do is to keep looking at it hhhh, funny as hell, + my budget is so limited actually, currently i have 120$ and i wana spend it very wisely ... I'm thinking about building a series of niche websites and i started with the one i mentioned on the main post above and here I'm doing nothing . so it's a little bit more complicated in my situation, but even though i still believe that i could make it online, but i'm not taking any action to make it happen :s

| Alcoholics Anonymous Basically daily evening meetings where you get up in front of your fellow alcoholics and say something like:"Hi, my name is bla bla bla and I am an alcoholic". Then you tell your story who you made a fool of yourself, while intoxicated. You ask for help and forgiveness, you then all hold hands and say the mantra. Been to a couple myself, way back, supporting friends. Hated it. Some of these guys had been going nightly for some 20 + years . If your addiction is THAT bad, I guess that is your only choice. My second meeting (with a friend that was a lesbian, not me, lol). The poor woman basically was so f****'n drunk all the time that her low breed family members decided that hey, let's have some fun (if you get my drift). It just got worse and worse and when I finally was able to leave THAT meeting, I swore never to go back. My friend ended up checking herself into a mental instutution, spent a year and came out ok. Sorry for elaborating to much, brought back to many memories, lol ![]() BTW, how do you do a spellcheck on the forum |

I don't think your subconscious is telling you not to make money, I don't think anyone would think like that lol. I think your mind is straying off path because of the lack of Instant Gratification, you didn't see results so your started to question yourself. You said you've built a site before but then ended up working less and less as each day went by. It's because you wasn't seeing any return on the initial work you put in. If you started making money right then, you wouldn't have the problem your having now. I think you created your own business model but overlooked it. Your knowledgeable in IM and you built your first website relatively quick, which you ended up selling... Why don't you start flipping websites and offer support to your clients. Go back and look at how much you spent on development etc on your first website, then research where you can get things done cheaper. You sold it for $300... find out where you can get the same type of site developed for $100 or $150. That's a potential $150-$200 return which is a good ROI. You'll see instant money from flipping which will trigger you to work more. When you start generating consent income from flipping, start dabbling in your own websites at the same time. You'll receive revenue from the flips and you won't end up giving up on your own sites b/c of the lack of income/results. Hope this helps |

I'm really not sure what you want us to tell you. And while I commend everybody for the well meaning posts above, they're not going to do diddle-e-squat for you. There is only one person in this world who can get you off your ass and off to work...you. If you want it bad enough, you'll do it. If you don't, you won't. I was out of work and broke when I started my business. Today, I work a few hours a month. I wanted it. Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself this question. "Do I really want it?" If you do, you'll make it happen. If you don't, you won't. |

You shouldn't be too hard on yourself. I often wonder how people can concentrate long enough to run a business. Every second there is something distracting us - the internet is like TV only the internet has a million more channels to distract us. When you work you need to make sure nothing is coming into your workspace to take your attention away from the task. That includes constant emails, surfing websites, forums and IM messages to friends. Self discipline is very cleansing and purifying - like they say in the east you have to go through the pain to get to the pleasure. What ever you do - you have to do a little bit more everyday then it becomes easy. |

WOW! This guy must be a genius. That's your advise? Thanks Tony Robbins.![]() Anyway, you shouldn't be afraid of asking question of most of the members here in this forum. I have spent several hours reading posts from different users and 90% of them give good advise. Weed through the people that are just out to sell their signature and you will find some great answers. There are a lot of great posts in this thread (unlike the above) that you can use to your advantage. My advice is this: Some people have CPS (chronic procrastination syndrome). You need to be responsible to someone else before you take action. What this means is, when you do something for yourself, you put it off or completely desert it. If you have to answer to someone else for your action then you will be more likely to put more effort into it. If you have a family, tell them what you are going to achieve and by what date. You must put a date on it. For instance: "I am going to have my affiliate site making $500.00 a month by December 31st". If you aren't quite making $500 a month by that date, then look at where you are at that time and adjust. Make sure you let your family know the new date or plan. The reason I have been so successful with my businesses is that I have made it a point to let someone close to me know my plans and they usually helped me keep on track. If I need time on the weekend to work on a site or make contacts, my wife would take the kids hiking or for a bike ride so I could have peace and quiet. She know the importance of what I was doing and supported me. Speaking of support. You MUST have the support of your family, spouse or loved one to do this. If they do not believe in you then you will have failed from the start. Good Luck Assassin

I don't get the reason why a lot of people here are dissing this thread when the OP has posted one of the best questions out there. I have been through this situation in the past and still face it every single day. Yup! Every single day. People will always tell you...Just do it...Get to work...Take action etc etc. But when you try to do it this way you are more or less trying to drive a car which has a flat tyre. No matter how hard you press the gas...You will always struggle. So what is the key here? Well it's not as simple as most people say it is. You can't change the tyre once and think it won't go flat again. And that's the thing here. Successful people train themselves to take action every single day. And yes...Here is the keyword- TRAINING. You have to train your mind to do all this. But from reading what you have already posted here....Here is the core problem you are facing- You are trying to do everything all together which often ends up overwhelming you. The key to getting out of this is to chunk everything down to small tasks which don't require much effort. You don't have to punish yourself everyday by doing too much altogether. But again...Let me be honest with you here! Nothing is going to be simple. If it was that simple then every tom, dick & harry out there would be making millions but we all know only 3% make it and the rest 97% live the average life. And... You are not pushing yourself out of your comfort zone You are training your mind every single day towards doing the things you don't want to do. And this is where the concept of conscious & sub-conscious mind comes in. You consciously know that you have to take action in order to succeed but all these years you have programmed your sub-concious mind to not take action. That's the reason why your two minds are in active conflict and here is the fact- In a battle between the conscious and sub-conscious mind the sub-conscious always wins hands down. It's like learning to balance a bike on two wheels...At first you fall a few times but when you do it long enough...Your sub-concious gets programmed and then you do it effortlessly. You will have to do something similar with your daily efforts here...Do something small every single day. It doesn't have to be big...Even 5 minutes would do for a start up. And as your subconscious gets programmed to do the right thing with time you will see this thing get more and more easy. In simple terms- HARD THINGS GET EASY WHEN YOU DO THEM LONG ENOUGH. If you truly want to go deep into these subjects and self-programming I would say learn NLP, Read as much as you can about how the human mind functions and specially how to train your sub-conscious mind. I have read a gazillion books on this subject therefore I can't even think of just one which would be the best. But I would say the more information you get on this subject the better it's going to be. Because not just in internet marketing but everything in life as well boils down to one thing and one thing only - HOW TO GET YOURSELF TO DO THE RIGHT THING EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT. And that's all about taking action. |

Spend less time on the computer. Does wonders for your productivity. When you limit your amount of time spent online, it forces you to use the time you do spend online more wisely. You can set aside specific times of the day, AFTER you get your important stuff done, to watch videos, check emails, etc. It won't be easy to maintain this discipline at first because you're not used to it. You'll get tired, fidgety, want to take a nap, etc. But stick with it for a few days, and you'll start to build the habit of getting productive work done and it'll become more and more effortless.

Successful people generally have similar characteristics. One of them is self-discipline. No one else has to come along and kick them in the ass to get them going. We're supposed to be more self-reliant than that when we reach adulthood. It's one thing to need guidance because you don't KNOW what to do but when you do know and just plain don't do it, who's fault is that? Tina

| STOP!! Hope that got your attention!!. Ive been there and done that buddy!!, dont worry cos your not alone. It sounds as if you know exactly what you should be doing, however your lacking the motivation required to get going... Under the tasks of bookmarking, backlinking, articles,on site seo, etc etc etc...its VERY easy to forget why your doing it in the first place. Whatever it was that got you excited in the beginning, must have faded a little, and you need to get that back!!. Remember WHY your doing this, financial reward, pride, education whatever, for the majority its money money money!! Focus on that instead of your bit of paper and you'll find yourself WANTNG to do whats required, as opposed to feeling as if you NEED to. Good Luck mate and i hope everything works out!! John |

My motive is to pay the money i borrow from the bank to help my sister because she had to do a big surgery few months back, they are taking 65% of my salary every month and I'm really struggling with the growing electricity bills and other daily expenses ... i want to save 3000$ to pay it back to the bank, it's around 26 000 MAD which is my country currency (Morocco), and it's a lot of money and i see that it's very doable online, so my main goal is to make that 3000$ and help my self first then I'll consider growing and making full time income online and maybe quite my job and work full time online Thank You

Second, I have to agree with some folks in here, you have to want it to get it. When you want it bad enough, or need it bad enough (and it sounds like you need it) you will find a way. Third, there are many sites out there that will write an article or ebook for you for just $10 or $20. You will most likely even find someone in WF. Fourth, If that don't work, offer someone 50% of what you make to write the book. Send them the info, they write the book and you split whats left after fees and other JV Partners. Fifth, the person that helps you write the book may be able to get a Paypal account in their name (or already have one) that you both can use to sell the book. Sixth, Alertpay may take your company. www.alertpay.com Seventh, you may be able to use click bank (which would get you thousands of affiliates too) www.clickbank.com So there you have it. The point is, just do something other than making excuses. Hope that don't sound rude, but that may be what you need said to you to get it going. Sincerely, Randy Thomas

Try not to focus on so many angles least you fall into that paralysis of analysis routine. Take a look at one angle pick a starting point and do just one step at a time. If you get overwhelmed you end up not doing anything. You know the steps after two years of study just outline what is the next step and begin with that. Stop looking for the next best course and launch. Spend a few moments each day but accomplish a small success each day and eventually you will begin to see the small steps adding up. It's the small steps or success that lead to the big victory. Remember keep it very simple at first; overwhelmed = stuck.

I thank you for the JV offer. I would love to help anyway I can. I am glad to see you getting started finally. That's the whole key, just get it done. Remember, a block is nothing more than a stepping stone to the top (steps are made of blocks )Sincerely, Randy Thomas

Host32, Since you have already identified that you have a problem, that's a good start. At least you are conscious of it. Few things you want to think about...
be way out of your comfort zone. And this means you probably need to do things out of the ordinary to reach there. Are you following through the motions now? Or are you out of our comfort zone?
before anything else. Do you have a plan in place? If you don't, get into the War Room (only requires you to make a $37 investment), read the plans there. Select the one that best suit your working resources and capability. And stick to it!
or how smart you are. If you don't take action, you GOT nothing. As simple as that. Yes, action-taking can be painful at times. You will meet problems. You will trip over obstacles. But if you can persevere and see it through, that's what will differentiate you from the rest of the crowd.
$100? $200? $1,000? Write it down. How many hours are you going to put in? Write it down. What are the specific step by step actions you are going to take? Write it down. If you want to be vague, go ahead. But as Tony Schwartz, the author of "The Power of Full Engagement" will tell you... if you are not specific enough in your action-taking plan, you odds of success are zero. Yes. ZERO!
Want to succeed fast? Watch what the successful people are doing. And model after them.
through, then you are better off working for other people. Want to succeed? Make a commitment known in public. Let other people know this is your plan. And you are hell bent on completing it. If you don't, get prepared to be embarrassed. Yes, it's painful. But that's the only surefire way to get you out of your coach to actually DO SOMETHING!
Put it to action straight away. Fast! Don't analyze till you are paralyze. Just do it. Get a sales page out. Get a product out. And sell. Watch the money come in later. Good luck my friend. Jag |
