How Do I Generate Traffic For A Physical Product

Hi,

My brother and I have a vinyl sticker business and are trying to find ways to bring traffic to brand new site that will be up in a few days.

We are doing well in our local area but would like to expand and offer our products through the Internet.

Article marketing doesn't really seem conducive for this type of business. I've been racking my brain for article ideas and I'm stumped. If anyone has any ideas they would be most welcome.

Our ideas to generate traffic are social bookmarking, free classifieds, and SEO. I am really stumped for ideas.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Christian

SEO, plus advertising (PPC mainly) are the obvious routes. Have you considered affiliates?

Social bookmarking will only work if you have content that is both interesting and will work - otherwise you will get empty traffic or be labeled a spammer - so you need to create a blog around your most sought after keywords, and make it useful. Which brings us back to SEO.

Use a blog to attract search traffic, retain the visitors and convert them to buyers.

One thing you need to keep in mind that marketing on the Internet is very similar whether your product is digital or physical. The *most* important thing to focus on first is KEYWORD RESEARCH. You need to get into the mind of your "ideal customer" and figure out what people are searching for in regards to your business. You will want to target keywords that are being searched with by buyers not "tire-kickers" (i.e. "custom vinyl sticker" a keyword like this is someone looking to *pay* for a custom sticker).

Once you have figured out exactly which keywords you will be targeting, you can then develop a marketing plan based off of that keyword list. The best free resource for keyword research is the https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and the best paid keyword research tool is Niche Marketing Product - Market Samurai

I hope you understand the importance of precise keyword targeting because if you're targeting the wrong people it doesn't matter how amazing your marketing plan is...

After getting a list of your "ideal customer" keywords, I would suggest you focus first on SEO and building up your websites "Google Reputation" after a few weeks of consistent link building you can begin doing PPC marketing (if you're site has better SEO it will have a better quality score when doing PPC and help you lower your CPC).

If you need help with things like SEO or PPC, just do a search on this forum, there are a TON of gems on here

    Best of luck to you!

    Hi guys,

Thanks for your quick response. My next question is should I set this up as a static website or could I set it up on a blog. Is that possible?

Another thing is how can I develop content?

    Once again thanks,

    Christian

It absolutely should be a blog, preferably WordPress. Create static pages for landing pages and your squeeze page, and articles as blog posts.

    I have 2 suggestions:

    1. Make a YouTube video showing how you make your product.

    2. Make a funny video showing where your most popular vinyl sticker has been placed! Of course, you put your URL at the end of the videos. The only limits are your imagination. Look at YouTube for examples.
