Simple Press Forum is the one Stu from Wishlist recommended to me, as a rule I tend to go the expensive and overly complex VBulletin though ![]() http://simplepressforum.com/ |

I've been using Simplepress open source and it works really well. One of the features I like about SimplePress is that when you create a new blog post you can also, if you want, have it automatically create a forum post. If you read the blog post that you just posted in Wordpress you will see a link at the bottom of that post that goes to the auto forum post. If you read the forum post there is a link referencing back to the blog post. So it cross links as an option to build your forum content and to notify users of the forum what your blogging about. Hi Mate, I use phpBB for my forum and I've had a script custom made for $50 on rentacoder to use the logins (username and password) from wordpress. That way they can just click over to the forum without logging in twice. I am aware of a plugin that makes wordpress and phpBB work together...but I have not tried it. Here is the link WP-United • Home Take Care, Michael Silvester |

I installed it but have yet to properly have a play with it, I am definitely going to put the effort into investigating it properly now, thanks.

| bbPress Made by the creators of Wordpress. Has the similar Admin interface + plugin architecture. Can also use Wordpress user data for logins. |

bbPress is great, but it can be a pain to work with especially if your wordpress install is a membership site rather than a simple blog, of course YMMV
