1) Create Product 2) Release on CLickbank 3) Get Rich..but,..really??

Hi Gang

Ok, so you've heard it before, you create a good product, stick it on Clickbank, and just spend your time recruiting affiliates / JVs and live happily ever after...and this happans to some I'm sure, and I really want to believe this.

The thing I want clarified though, is why are there X thousand (forgotten the number) products on Clickbank, but in each category, people only look at the first page, on which the gravity might go from 300 down to figures less than zero...what happens to the THOSANDS of other products?

So, realisticaly, how easy is this achieve? OR.......is it the case that people use clickbank just to handle the affiliate program, and then people make all their money from one or two high volume traffic sites they've approaced, which could generaye tons of daily sales, but would only show as gravity one or two the sales come from only a couple of unique affiliate IDs.

Any comments welcome, I'm not strictly sure what my exact question is, but do you see what I'm getting at????

Thanks,
Phil

From my understanding, the lower gravity products are the ones that are not selling very well. Having said that some may be getting consistent sales from a few affiliates as you suggested.

Products with a high gravity obviously sell well but that's because of two things, a good sales copy and good promotion. Having a product on Clickbank doesn't always mean you will get a lot of affiliates. Yes there are thousands of affiliates lurking there looking for products to promote but they won't always find your product. You need to find them.

By "you" i don't mean YOU, I'm just saying in general.

Not sure if I answered your question but I hope that helps.

    Thanks,
    Adam

  • Good products rise to the top and good affiliates don't only look on the front page. Plus the front/first page varies depending on your sort criteria.

So go create a great product. Then put it on Clickbank. Then comeback here and announce it. If it's good you'll be on your way. But the people who determine if it is good or not are the people that buy and promote it.

High gravity is a misleading indicator of a quality digital product on Clickbank.
Sticking a product on Clickbank also does not mean that it will end up having a high gravity.
High gravity is usually due to one or two things:
    1. Pre-planned affiliate planning -- Where the product owner has prepared a pre-launch strategy, or recruited a mass amount of affiliates.
    2. Experienced affiliates -- Experienced affiliates conducting "numbers" research & selecting products that are increasing gravity over time & they take a risk on marketing that product due to market research factors.

There are two spectrums of this equation however:
    1. There are a high volume of quality products marketed well
    2. There are a high volume of quality products NOT marketed well
    3. There are a VERY HIGH volume of NON quality products marketed well
    4. There are a VERY HIGH volume of NON quality products NOT marketed well.

GRAVITY, however is ONLY a research tool for Clickbank owners to market there products more effectively. And utilizing the Clickbank platform is a better payment operating system that offers integrated affiliate system.

It does not mean that it will be a success however. Becuase you can easily have a low gravity and NOT use affiliate & just get plain sales directly from your own efforts.

What I think you are trying to ask or achieve, or find out is:
Is there a method to generating a high gravity to acheive a high volume of sales in a short period of time?
My answer to this would be, it' not about gravity.
It's about your processing & strategy to generating a high volume of affiliates to market & promote your product.

And that's just one piece to the puzzle.......

I would stuff in another process:

Create product >> Release on ClickBank >> Do A Product Launch (Small or Big...whatever but the motive is to skyrocket your gravity) >> Sit back and wait for those $5k paychecks to come in every month.

    Hi Phil,

As a copywriter I have spent a fair bit of time on CB doing market research... and one thing I can tell you is most have horribly written sales pages.

The second factor is most people don't know how to drive traffic.

Creating a product is a business. You need something that helps people improve their lives... a good copywriter who can pull out a USP and write a killer sales page... and a way to drive traffic.

Whether you use a launch to attract affiliates... get an affiliate manager or something else... if you have a decent amount of targeted traffic and a killer sales page and a genuinely good product... you can't go wrong.

    Easier said than done though.

    To OP..No.

No, it is not that easy.

I personally believe the best way is to:

    1) Have good copywriting material (salespage, squeeze page)
    2) Build list
    3) Plan your product launch.

Once you have all these done, THEN your product will be of value.

Like what Paul Myers said: a good product will NOT sell itself.

How does the person know that it is a good product UNTIL he actually BUYS the product?

    Thank you Paul.

High gravity indicates the number of affiliates promoting a certain product. Case in point: Maverick Money Makers was in the top five for the IM niche for a long, long time, but that program is basically crap giftwrapped in a fancy box that newbie affiliates basically fight to promote.

I like to look for lower gravity products with quality sales pages. Of course, I occasionally come across some really, really ridiculous "products", particularly in the weight loss niche, and post 'em for a laugh >

To answer your original question, though, no, it's not that easy at all. It's the same philosophy as "build it and they will come." It just doesn't work that way. Yes, you'll have to spend time on it, but you may spend a lot of time on it. In order to achieve results, you must treat it as a business and not a hobby.

As for those thousands of other products, think of Google... do all those millions of other web results magically disappear because they didn't rank first page? A lot of websites die, a lot are born, and a lot still make money through other ways even if the Google directory doesn't reflect so.

    Hi Everyone

Thanks for your feedback, really good posts! It's definitely a puzzle, and each piece has to be good or the thing falls over.

It seems copy is a huge factor for starters, and somebody once described my copy politely as 'weak', it's just not in me, and a good copywriter starts at about $2000, unless I'm mistaken, in fact I need to find one for a new product of mine... Wasn't it Gary Halbert who said "All problems can be solved with a good sales page" - but as already stated, the product should be good which I'm told is what a good affiliate or JV looks for.

    ...and lastly, good targetted traffic.
