Definately , long tail keyword is easy to get top search engine ranking.I think you are lucky to find that word which has almost competition and 89 searches per day.

Hi Amar,

I'm indeed glad about it. But sometimes I don't think they can be true. Ok here's an example:

I now did a search for the term "clickbank" without quotes in SEObook tool and in the wordtracker free version tool.

The first result was:

ewan chia's affiliate clickbank ebook

No. of searches: 314 daily'est and according to wordtracker 306

But you can see that the name itself is spelled wrong. Instead of EWEN, it is EWAN. Isn't this a bug of some kind? How could it just be possible.

I think you may be doing something incorrect. Google's tool gives monthly estimates and for me it shows for 'ewan chia's affiliate clickbank ebook'-

'not enough data'

And wordtracker's free tool shows -

'no results found.'

Even without the apostrophe and with the correct spelling.

Are you searching for that exact phrase (without any quotes)?

I use subject lines from Forums as my long tail keywords for PPC -- nobody I know of teaches this.

You see lots of questions people asking in forums about a particular product, all I do is load those questions I see in subject lines to my PPC list of keywords.

Do that 5 times, if each ONLY resulted in yielding 30 searches a month, I just gained top but cheap bids for 150 keywords.

Imagine paying for $0.05 for keywords and 150 clicks, it's only going to cost you $7.50.

Out of 150 clicks, 1 or 2 converts and let's say your choice of Clickbank product only paid $25 commission per sale, you just earned $50 out of $7.50 budget.

I do this every month and repeat the process. You won't lose a shirt using Google Adwords and ROI for this campaign and so huge and safe.

It's time consuming but imagine just doing this over and over, you can literally make full-time income by doing truly automated PPC campaign with Clickbank products.

Nice thought, I'll add that to my KW research. And truly PPC works, if only you can keep the bids low and landing pages rich. This often will give you a good quality score, low bids and decent ROI.

  I usually display real URL of the product (unless product owner trademarks it and doesn't like others using it).
  
  But ones that are displayed, by looking at it, you can't tell if it's done by the owner or by me. Sometimes I am the only affiliate of theirs -- no other listings below or above my ad.
  
  This works good if you don't any competing affiliates, all trying to use the original URL as their displayed URL.
  
  But if you must compete, then I'll shoot an email to the owner and say, "Hey do you mind if I get an URL says yourproduct.net and promote it"? So his/her URL is .com and mine being .net
  
  Then I'll float around #3-#4 listing ad, carrying .net domain. If I use .net, I'll mask the URL the whole time. It doesn't seem to affect sales. People say "it can so just use redirect", but I'll mask it.
  
  I don't know if that answers your question. But if you're wondering if I create a separate website? I don't.
  
  Just send traffic directly to their websites. Trick is to NOT go after one website that converts like magic, but go multitudes until you start earning $50 here, $75 there every few months while spending one tenth of that towards your budget with cheap, yet high converting keywords.
  
  Find 10 products that each yields $50 instead of one product selling 10 times for $500 -- product like that is very competitive and you won't be able to keep your bids low. I don't spend any more than $0.20 a click. If a product pays out $48 in commission and costing me $0.05 per click I can afford to send 960 clicks for the product in order to break even. Even if it converts at 1%, you just yielded $460.80 out of those 960 clicks ($48 budget).

  The first few times I looked in my server logs and saw what people were typing in to get to my sites, I was pretty amazed. Some really long tail phrases that wound up on my sites. 8 or 9 words can be great phrases to go after. Just try it out and see if it converts for you. It doesn't make all that much difference if you have great keywords but they don't convert. Although, many times the longer tail keywords convert better.
  
  I hesitate to say always, becasue I don't think anything is always one way or the other, but I would say all other things being equal, long tail keywords convert better to sales.

  Such LT keywords are probably just copied and pasted from some news or other high profile source? Easier for the curious than typing it out. I would expect that such searches are very event driven, most of the time, eg. "brad pitt's new hairstyle is outrageous!"
  
  I have that theory because that's how I search, not by copying and pasting, but by typing proper English sentences. I figure that if I use complete sentences, which include more nuances (aka filters), I'll get better (focused) results.
  
  I'm always using LT keywords, and up until now I didn't know that that's what I was doing!

Hi Roger,

When you do a search for "ewan chia's affiliate clickbank ebook" in wordtracker, it shows nothing. But when you do a search for "clickbank", it shows the above keyword first and clickbank as second.

Don't know why that happens.

I've heard some talk (in an email newsletter) that wordtracker can't be relied upon currently - and that was in reference to the paid version.

  Wordtracker never could be IMHO.... it's a shoddy setup and I dunno how they have been able to charge a subscription for so long, you would think word would get around quicker about the naff data

wordtracker is wrong alot of times it seems to me. I have ranked in the top 3 spot for a term that gets around 4000 daily searches per day and I only get 10-20 uniques from it,lol. So it can be wrong, I tried many titles for the page also....so its not that.

I have gone after a lot of low traffic low competition (very long tail) keywords that bring in traffic, but you need thousands of them to compete with a high traffic keyword.
