Why does a forum pingback my site?
Hello Warrior,
I have a blog and I advertised the blog on some forums. I posted a link to my blog and asked the people to check it out. For some reason, my blog received a pingback from a couple forum sites. It came as a "comment" in wordpress.com and included some of the text I wrote in the forum and a backlink to the site.
What exactly is a pingback and is there any benefit to it for my site? Why did it come in the form of a comment? I did not request any pingbacks from the site.
