| I think it’s meaningless to describing again and again as what’re the free methods possible to getting traffic into your website. Because, here in this forum they’re numerous number of threads explain them very well. The thing what want to say is, THEY ALL WORK!!!! No doubt there at all……….. But You should have implemented appropriate and correct TECHNIQUES related to each method. Perhaps, you have heard this advice thousands of times “TEST, TEST, and TEST find what works for you” Actually, all methods work, But the method what you’ve implemented with the method related appropriate techniques, works nicely for you. In other words Any free traffic driving method can give you some amount of traffic under the no techniques condition also. But it’s very less than due to the actual quantity it can give you with techniques. So, my opinion is, You can find the success with ANY free traffic driving method Do you agree with me or not? |

I agree that you can use "free" methods (as in methods that don't cost money) to drive traffic to your site, but you have to understand that some methods work better in some situations than others. For example, I don't use Facebook to promote my personal blog much, as my friends aren't into business, internet marketing, or entrepreneurship, and it would seem pretty shameless to promote that way. But--if I started a bar and wanted to get some publicity, Facebook would be a GREAT way to generate some traffic. Just my two cents: just because you're not spending money doesn't mean you shouldn't be scrutinizing every PR and marketing avenue you use... |

There are lots of methods out there that do not work. For the method to work you want it to: 1. Keep on working once you have implemented it and 2. Send you targeted customers that buy/convert. One example is Yahoo Answers. You may answer a question and get traffic for a while - but eventually your answer will get deleted. At least - there is a high chance that it will. There goes all your efforts - wasted. I would not consider that a good method that works - however others might. |

It really all depends on how you use these techniques to drive traffic. Like what I love to say: traffic driving involves not only backlink building. You ought to create buzz. Hype. Interesting and quality content. FRESH content. Give the readers something to think about. Some new paradigm shifting views. New perspective on things. Show them your angle at looking at the same old subject. That will drive people to want to know more about what you have to say and what you have in stall for them. Free traffic, paid traffic..meh. Simply applying them right will give you results! The question is: Do you know what to do with the traffic you have? |

You have to learn what to do with the visitors, when you get the traffic, even if it's not 100% targeted, you just have to lead them and tell them what do next, and don't let the visitor go away without taking action..Wisely force them to take any kind of action that you will have benefit from..and give the visitors a few options, but every option must be benefitial to you..And ofcourse, don't forget to ADD VALUE..without value, visitors will disrespect you

That's a good point, knowing what to do with your traffic. If you've done what you need to do to drive them to your website the next steps are equally important. Can you get them to opt in to your list (if that is your goal) or convert them to a sale. These two things take practice, experimentation and know how. Peter |

I personally don't rely on free methods but I used them in some point and it helps a Lot. But if your planning to be more extensive in your work you really have to invest one way or another.

| Content - are you adding content to your site? If you are not or you think that adding content is too much work, then don't bother with IM. You need content to get organic traffic. You also need to target low competition keywords with your content. |
