Youtube marketing idea

I had an idea for a youtube channel, where you ask (and film) normal people 5 different questions. Say - History, Politics, Sexual Revolution, Relationships, Parenting, off the top of my head. Give them 3 minutes each subject to talk about whatever they like. Done, post to youtube.

Of course it's all about the people being interviewed- people love seeing 'unusual' people giving their views. Everyone know someone like this. But you need to talk to the person for a while before, explain what you are about, bring some liqueur if they drink, so they can be relaxed and you will get people talking.

That's it, doya reakon it would fly?

p.s if you are going to steal my idea then tell me and we can work together.
p.p.s Once you get heaps of views you can monetize it somehow. Ideas?

I don't see how you will get thousands of views with that kind of videos, and If you would manage to do that I don't think it would be good to monetize.

Can you explain what are you trying to achieve using this concept and what's going to make it viral?

It's going to take lots of interviews to find something with potential.

I have been mulling it over and have have some more observations

1. Your are right - it is all about the interviewees. The more interesting the person, the better the videos. You would need to carefully come up with a extensive list of people who would be appropriate.

The people can range from people you know to interesting people such as buskers, far right / left people, people who are fanatical letter to the editor writers, even local minor celebrities / talking heads might be interested, ministers, politicians etc.



2. What would make it go viral? You will need one interview that is shocking, funny, interesting, controversial enought that people would want to show thier friends / network. Also if you could get somebody who is a minor celeb of some type - that would help.

3. As for the purpose, it would be a project mainly for attention. I have always wanted to make films, but don't think it will ever happen, I would really enjoy this - if some videos went viral you would need to have a monetizing system setup of course.

3. Of course if you did start getting big views you would need to have your own site, but for now youtube (and others) would be ok.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
