Quick question: When working with internal links on my site: Should I use an absolute link pointing to site.com or www.site.com? They currently just point to site.com. Does the www have more weight for Google Page Rank? Thanks in advance! |

It doesn't have "more weight". (And the "www" is not really necessary at all...) The only thing you have to take care of: ALWAYS use only one - either the variant with www or without it!!! Make sure you tell G. at the webmastertools which variant you want to be indexed. After that always use that one. (Otherwise, G. will index it as 2 [two] separate sites, since the subdomains - and www. is a subdomain! - are indexed as separate sites!) |
| In the first half of the year we are supposed to work for the taxman. I think that's a mistake. Help me to get rid of the taxman ASAP - thanks! (You, too, should make less mistakes!) | |

I don't think that it makes any difference if you use www or not. Tal |

I prefer without the www but as mentioned make sure you pick one and stick to it. Save yourself typing 4 characters over and over and skip the www ![]() Now, if I'm putting something in the URL bar, I'll just enter the (.com) domain name and hit control-enter like: google<control-enter> |

I never (well almost) write HTML with www. prefixes - but in print marketing I prefix a domain name by www. because it's a shorthand that tells people it's a website and they can type it into their browser. My hosting accounts are setup by default so the .www prefix and the http:// prefix go to the same place. |

For branding purposes--if you expect visitors will return to your site by typing in the URL--dropping the www helps make the domain name more memorable. However, that does not mean that the html (code) has to drop the www. As others have said, consistency in your href statement matters, but that is different (potentially) from the way it appears on the page that the visitor sees.

Just use www its easier and its more common on the 1st page of google. Saying that I don't perceive it to make a difference at all! If your using wordpress you can just change the homepage to www. by going to settings in your Cpanel. |
