Default Do I have to show amount left if I offer "first 50" to buy special price?

I am considering offering a special price to the first 50 people that purchase a pdf download from my website landing page. Not being a techie, I am not sure how to set up a "counter" to show how many are left and I really don't care about the count myself, I will just change the copy once the site has done its job and if I go over the 50 by whatever amount, it is fine with me. Do prospective buyers need to know how many are left, or are they OK with just seeing the "first 50" offer? I am not anxious to get involved in changing code, etc to get the count unless I really have to. OK, thanks, Ed.

Ed, there is nothing by law that says you have to BUT...if you do show the
number left, this WILL create a sense of urgency as you get down to the
end of the sale.

There are scripts that will track these though I am not familiar with any
of them myself. I write my own when I want to do this.

It's up to you how hones you want to be in your marketing. I don't think the first 50 would mind or care if you sell a few extra copies.

It's a "normal" scarcity tactic used by marketers to create sense of urgency by limiting number of copies, and it works. Unfortunately in most cases it's not true. So it's entirely up to you.
