Hopefully some warriors knowledgeable in Vista can help me out. I have a Vista PC that has four profiles on it. Approximately 50% of the time the profiles fail to load. Has any body else experienced this and what did you do to solve it? Kevin |

Kevin, I have this exact problem on a regular basis. I've usually found that a reboot resolves the issue. I have not tried any further to troubleshoot, as Vista is full of bugs. Even after the latest service pack the bugs are still there. My advice..... get your hands on a copy of Windows 7. It's much faster and looks great too. The bugs that exist in Vista don't exist in Windows 7. If you use any software that is incompatible, consider a downgrade back to Windows XP, or run the software in compatibility mode.

HI willyg78, Thanks for that info. I kinda figured it was one of the many issues that Vista has but it is annoying because when I'm working on something I put the files on the desktop. When you switched to Windows 7 did you do an upgrade or a full install? Kevin |

I've never heard of the issue, but drop Vista, and get Windows 7 if you can, otherwise have you tried reinstalling Vista?

microsoft provide a tool that will save all of your vista data and file to an img file. You can then install windows 7 and then transfer all of your files back in I've already done this to test if it worked (it is microsoft so you never know) and I was pleasantly surprised.. it did work very well.. I would also back up your vista using something like norton ghost just incase things go wrong.. |

When I upgraded I used an upgrade copy of Windows 7 (it's cheaper) but formatted my drive first, after backing everything up of course. During the upgrade, you are asked for a copy of your previous OS, to verify you are eligible to use the upgrade copy. This is definately the cleanest and best method. If you do a straightforward upgrade to Windows 7, you're carrying some of the guff from Windows Vista with you!! Hope this makes sense!!
