A beginner's question about autoresponders

Quick question:

With autoresponders, I am sending people emails about their niche correct? Such as if I have chosen "xx" as my niche, I should be sending emails that have something to do with "xx" correct?

That isn't really my question. My question is this. For all of the "opt-ins" that I have done, is the niche of all of those people's whose lists i've opted in "internet marketing"? Because thats pretty much all the info I get is about internet marketing. Is that essentially how that works? I mean, it makes sense, I guess I just wanted a concrete answer. I mean, if your "niche" isn't internet marketing, then all of the launches pretty much have nothing to do with you it seems. Such as, if i have a list of people interested in gardening, they wouldn't be interested in a product about sending traffic to a website right? So is the only way to get into partnering with launches getting into the IM, or "make money online" niche?

I hope you can understand what I am trying to say, and ask. My brain doesn't seem to allow me to explain myself very well. Thanks

You can partner in other niches as well.

So if you'd want to focus on the gardening niche, you'd look our for people who already make business in that niche and sign up to their list.

Pretty much. Because if your subscriber is interested in xx niche, you are interested in xx niche and have products in that xx niche, sure you can send emails to your subscriber about that xx niche. That is called targeted marketing.

Nope. Search out forums in your interest. Warrior is for IM. However most niches will have forums and active people building lists of targeted folks within that niche interested in what you have to offer if it is quality stuff. Your gardening folks will opt in to an IM offer if they want to get into IM. There is a Horse niche getting ready to do a giveaway soon. I as an IM interested person, have offered my services to those who don't want to do all the site building / squeeze page building type stuff. Does this help?

You shouldn't be worried about being part of launches if you're just starting out. What you need to do is pick a niche. Let's say you chose gardening.

You need to create some sort of free offer and set up a squeeze page that will capture opt ins. Obviously, your visitors will opt-in to get your free offer, and they should ALL be targeted to gardening.

Then, go to some different affiliate networks and find products that you can promote in the gardening niche.

However, make sure that you aren't promoting an offer every time you e-mail your list. Be sure to e-mail them a few times a week with really good, free content.

That is a VERY basic rundown, but I don't want to overwhelm you. Send me a PM and I'll let you in a few things. (Let me know what niche you're trying to target so I can help with the specifics.

Hello JTread.

Whatever the niche you are building a list for you'll need to find a subject related to yours. You mentioned gardening as an example. If you are looking to partner with someone or in other words, want to do a joint venture, then you should look for people either selling a product on your chosen subject or who have a blog or ezine on the subject who you have a list of people for.

Clickbank or Comission Junction are good places to look for products on your niche. Get the contact details of the creators and mention you have a list of people interested in their subject. That's always a good way of finding partners.

Thank you all for the help. It all pretty much answered the questions I had. I think what I am going to do is find a list to opt in that doesn't consist of IM just to see what the emails will look like, or what they will be selling weekly, to see the differences in the IM stuff i receive, and "gardening" for example.

Essentially, I will be mixing a little bit of "gardening" as well as some IM stuff in the mix correct? Meaning, I will be giving away content on gardening, but using my IM knowledge for opt ins, sales pages, etc.. Is that correct? So therefore, I should learn about some of the IM stuff, such as writing up a good sales page etc?

I'm making strides in learning this stuff, but as i've read time and time again, "jump in without knowing much, just take action" and that once I at least take action, I can fix it later, or learn to fix the mistakes. Thanks again! All of you are such a help!

What you mentioned is the the best way for you to learn how to structure your atuoresponder.

Sign up to some "gardening" lists. Find out who is successful in selling their "gardening" products and sign up to their lists. See how each email is written. Where they put the links in their emails. How their emails are written. How the "p.s." at the end of their emails takes shape.

JTread, what I thought when I started is that these emails are just sent to you randomly. But I quickly learned that everything is how it is for a reason. The reason being is normally to sell you someting, which I have no problem with as long as the quality of what they are selling you is good and as described.

Tip. Sign up to a list to a person who you want to emulate in your niche and save all the emails you recieve from them in one folder. You'll probably see a pattern in how all the emails are written and also how all the subject lines are written.

Remember, what you write in your emails is important. Provide good content. But that won't matter a snip if your email is never opened. The subject line is what gets your email opened.

When you have signed up to the persons list you want to emulate see what email you really wanted to open and why you wanted to open it. What was it about the subject line that made you say "That looks interesting, lets see whats inside".

I've learned so much just from being inquisitve and the more inquisitve you are the more money you'll save (on buying all those information products).

But in the end, get out there and try what you've learnt for yourself and remember no mistake is irreversible.
