Default Advise needed for budding marketer

Hi everyone...After a year of careful planning (and waiting for some more cash) I have finally got my business up and running. I took the advice of Tim Lowe and Andrew Reynolds and their classified ads marketing system. So I have spent a fortune getting a sales letter, website and advertising in a national newspaper, to have ended up getting 3 orders in 2 weeks!!! I am in debt, thinking that if they are pulling in thousands of pounds, then I will...I can't afford to keep ads in expensive papers, so have gone to google with an ad and free classifieds. I despair that so many of you say you're earning so much money. I have followed their advice to the letter. Please give honest advice, is it the ad, the website or what????

I have no idea what you are asking. The problem with most of these sales type websites is that they may be making what they claim but a newbie marketer simply doesn't have the tools necessary to compete. Example....

  • Do you know how to write good ad copy that sells?
  • Do you know how to effectively split test?
  • Are you obsessive compulsive (good to be if you are into writing ads because you will constantly want to tweak)?
The list can go on and on in any of the make money markets. The good thing is that you are finally starting to apply yourself. Now it is time to really start learning....

Hi Louise,

I just found your page after searching for AR on this forum. Having been someone who has followed AR and has developed an interesting relationship with him [and his lawyers], here's the advice I can offer.

AR and TL make most of their money from selling backend high-ticket products. The classified ads in newspapers are used to generate sales of their cheap front end products so that they can create a list to whom they can upsell more expensive products later on.

They do not intend to make a huge profit on the front end sales and just want to break even. What you have done is put yourself into massive debt before you even started promoting your front end product and most importantly - UK mainstream newspapers are not the place to promote a copywriting course! You can get cheaper classified ads in magazines targeted at writers.

I have had an opportunity to look at your website. It's dull and the blue just strains my eyes. Your headline does not captivate and motivate me to read on. In fact after reading your first paragraph I just decided to skim the rest of the page.

Personally, I think the template containing your text is too wide and isn't easy for the eyes to follow. You should also be proactively seeking to capture your visitors details via a more dynamic mechanism than plain text on the left. I can give you a FREE consultation if you send me a Private Message.

Best wishes,

Abul

I'm assuming you're referring to Andrew Reynolds and Tim Lowe? Well AR's earnings within the UK put him on par with the earnings of some of the most well known Internet Marketers. Tim Lowe has 'only' reportedly made £10 million [about $15 million].

However, I do have a few issues with their marketing methods. Have any of the Brits viewing this thread actually done AR's Cash On Demand Course?

Hi Louise,
Your in a market where there are so many experts it is impossible for a beginner to break into on a first project. This is the trouble when you learn from expert highly paid marketers, mentors, gurus (whatever you want to call them). They make a beginner feel they can conquer the world. You are now playing in the real world with no experience.
I bet these are re branded products as well that you were told would sell like hotcakes.

Forget about this product. You will never make any money with it. This business model you are following doesn't work for the beginner. Go and find a niche you know something about. At least this way you have a knowledge and passion on the subject. Look at creating an information product If your market dictates, target your market with vids on youtube. Copy the keywords of other successful vids in your niche and place your url in the description of the vid.

you'll get free traffic this way. You'll end up broke throwing money at classified ads at this stage of your IM career. Start small and gain confidence and repeat the formula and then automate it.

Find a mentor .

Good luck

M
