Default Think there is any chance Wetoku could be worthy enough to make product?

Have you tried out Wetoku yet?

wetoku (no affiliation what so ever)

Here's what it does...

It allows you to log in with your webcam and invite another participant to join you in the video chat. At any time, you can record the video chat.

Then, they offer you a embed code that you can place on your website.

Pro's = It's super easy. It's fast. They apparently cover the band width of the video too.

Cons = It's still in Beta. Without a "Pro" account your video records on a low quality. And there's a few other functions that are supposedly coming soon.

Below is part of a email I received from them...

"Wetoku Pro is under development. Some users have early access to some of the features in Wetoku Pro, which include higher video quality. Some of the other features that we plan on (soon!) including in Wetoku Pro are:

-text transcripts
-video download
-one-click upload to YouTube
-no advertisements (we plan on running unobtrusive text ads in the bottom-thirds)"

I've gotten access to a Pro account, but I'm interested mostly in the "video download" which isn't available yet. The text transcripts sounds interesting as well, depending on price and quality.

So I'm wondering, do you think this could be worthy of a product? The test we did on low quality settings I would have to say no. However, if the talent on video was good enough I'd put up with a few quirks.

Anyway, give it a try. It's kind of cool, and easy. And it's a simple way to share quick content.

Heck, it may even be cool to see Warriors chat back and forth.

I wonder, can you embed these videos in the forum post?

Anyhow, I'm rambling.

Just curious, anyone used this?

That's a pretty cool idea...when uploading to YouTube becomes possible, you'd be able to embed in WF posts.

Oh yes, you are correct.

Good thinking!

Could you imagine how this tool could be used on a Political Debate site? Man, that would make some seriously annoying, yet traffic pulling chatter.

Oh, man...you just made my day! I'm taking stabs at building a (very partisan) political forum, and this would be a fantastic addition. Hhmm. Now I just need real people to start posting...oh well, one thing at a time.
