How to sell digital cameras?

I kind of like photography, at least as an amateur, so I have a pretty good point-and-shoot and if I ever get an income I'm going to spring for a full frame dslr camera. I read about them and research them and so on and I thought it might be good to make some websites and try to sell them.

I wonder how I should try to make money from a camera site. I'd like to do better than Amazon's 4% commission, so I'd probably have to become an affiliate to a camera store or manufacturer. I'd appreciate if anyone had any advice they can share.

You can sell as an amazon camera review site but you could also:

    1. affiliate yourself with stock photography sites.
    2. sell wholesale through ebay
    3. promote clickbank books on photography
    4. search these affiliate programs for cameras and electronics

consumer camera affiliate programs - Google Search

It's great to have a specific niche, but allow yourself to do a little list building and promote some companion products that folks might need.

Don't forget about camera bags and accessories too. Tripods, lenses, filters, etc

If I were you, I wouldn't do it unless I had the ability to buy them in bulk. Which brands of camera's are you looking for? PM me, and I'll see if I can find you a good deal through my suppliers overseas. Sometimes I get some on Buy 4 Less Electronics Inc. - Products but I mostly get them from my "secret sources."

As to how to sell them, people love HD pictures of the actual product. A good 360 rotating view of an electronic item can be enough to actually sell the product. Stats are also important, but a lot of people don't know what the hell a megapixel is anyways, so its the cosmetics that are important.

I would sell on eBay for the first year or two, put a watermark to your sites URL on the images and slowly convert your eBay customers to your site. Offer eBooks on photography, maybe offer a slight student discount online, maybe post on car forums where people love photography of their cars. (I love forum marketing)

    Hi Jayveen

If you are interested in the niche then this could be a good plan. Because you have some knowledge it will help you.

How you monetise the site might be secondary to how you set it up.

You need to find your micro niche within the camera niche.

So instead of "cameras" as your niche you would be better looking at "Nikon SLR cameras" This is just an example

You should find a good subniche and build a website around it.

How you make money will depend on the subniche.

You might be selling as an affiliate
You could have an info product
You could simply have an adsense site
