Hello All! I'm not new to IM but I'm new to using PLR content. I have tons of PLR on my HD and am looking at transferring some into my own products and selling them.

I've done tons of searches on the forum and haven't really found any guidance on steps to take to get these products up and running. Any help would be much appreciated!

      Hello,

Before reselling any PLR products I would recommend beefing them up some and putting your own twist on it. I would also look at ways that you can add onto the PLR product. By adding a video course, audio and maybe some expert interviews.

I would not simply just purchase a PLR and turn around and resell it as your own. Make it unique, add some more value and it will not only help you brand yourself but it will provide a better product to your customers.

I would also consider getting the graphics redone.

      I hope that helps.

Definitely need to tweek the PLR content that you have. As stated it is important to change the graphics to in order to give the product your own personality. Keeping the original graphics may be recognized by some as the original product.

Also good idea to put up your own squeeze page centered around the PLR content you are promoting. Create an opt in form to start to generate a list. When someone opts in send them to your sales page or if you want them to purchase the product first have them opt in after the sale to get their download.

Check out the WF if you need to find people to do graphics if you don't do them yourself. Usually better to hire a pro to get professional looking results.

        Good Luck

    Lower the price? Why?

The OP mentioned he plans to add the PLR to his own products and sell them. Seems that would increase the price/value. Maybe I missed something?

To the OP, are you asking for guidance on creating your own products from PLR? Or something entirely different?

My advice -- read any PLR you're using carefully and evaluate not only the ideas and the content, but also how much work YOU will have to do to clean it up and change it. There is a lot of really crappy PLR out there, and you can spend hours fixing it so that it doesn't sound like a moron wrote it. Not all is like this, but a lot is. I personally do a lot with PLR and enjoy working on it, but this is a huge downside for a lot of people. And if you find a source for really great PLR, sign up or buy a membership if available, it'll very quickly pay for itself.

    What comes to mind at first is that there are two main ways to use PLR content;

#1. Sell it to make money.
#2. Use it to build a list.

I would at first try to decide which way you want to go (or a combination of both). It might depend on what topics of PLR material you have and what market you want to enter into.

But building a list is very important, but you can probably do both if you have enough of the same similar topic material.

Within each of those two ideas, there is A LOT of ways that you can use it, but it does depend on the time and/or money you have available and what you are capable of doing.

Feel free to PM me for more ideas.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. What I am looking to do is turn the plr into my own content and resell it as my own. Just so I can get some practice in before I create my own products. Sort of like a trial and error. I've done the affiliate marketing thing for awhile now, and it seem like the real money is in product creation.

@ Tinkerbell, yes I am trying to create my own products from plr to resell, not add them to my own. I have a few ideas for some products to create, but want to use the plr to work out all of the kinks.

I do some graphic design and I'm familiar with DW and PS. Thanks again!

    Dobinc,

In that case, go through your PRL and group it according to subject matter/niches. When you have everything divided, go through again and weed out the junk. Keep only what you know you can use.

Next, brainstorm your own titles, and make a list of topics each ebook will contain. Then, using your PLR as a jumping off point, and directional guide (to help you stay focused and on topic for the ebook you're creating) write your original material ... again, using the PLR material as a base.

That's how I would do it.

Hey Thanks again! I wasn't really sure how to go about it. Most posts that I've read just made it seem like you just take the plr, change the graphics, change the name without rewriting or using it as a base. Good stuff! I'm going to get started on this asap!

Thank you for the nice words Oddvar.

Sorry I would love to post more on this topic, I have a bit of a passion for PLR but I am in the middle of a big 10 product Physical PLR product launch today that has had me working about 40 hours straight. (no sleep)

As soon as things calm down a little from the launch, I will try to make time to re-visit this thread and give a little more input. I am happy to help in any way that I can.

On top of the two videos I mentioned previously on my blog I also have a 2 hour tele-seminar I did on rebranding PLR at :: Jeremy Burns' plrtips.com :: it's a few years old but still very relevant.

I am totally not trying to self promote here so anyone that checks out the PLRTips audios, just say NO on the OTO's that come up when you signup for the free audios, then if you PM me here I will get you comp access to the OTO's on that site.

It may take me a few days to get back here to check my PM's- so you can alternatively use the support link on the PLRTips.com site and I will instruct my staff to hook you up with the free OTO's if you mention the Warrior forum.

I know most people like to just sell PLR as it comes, but there really is so much more money to be made if you rebrand them, or better yet target them to a totally new niche.

I talk about this on the two hour PLRTips audios in way more detail than I can go into here. Check them out they are sure to get you thinking of all kinds of new ways to make money with PLR that 99% of the rest of the PLR resellers will never do.

If you become one of the 1% you will have a 'way' fatter bank account that the other 99% I guarantee it. Sure it's a bit more work, but very worth it.

    Hi, all.

First of all, I do not disagree with any of the other posts, but there is one question that comes to my mind when I read about other inputs on how to use plr books.

Most of the people here at WF are using Affiliate marketing as their business plan.

Many affiliates promote the same product, as well.

When it comes to PLR then suddenly mostly of the advice is about how important it is to change everything so the product becomes unique.

What is the difference between selling a plr product, as is, and selling a product as an affiliate, besides the fact that you keep all the commission instead of splitting it with the vendor?

One difference is of course the control over the price tag. Plr products have a tendency to be price dumped of some people, but how likely is it that the same customer is seeing the same product from different places when we talk about niches far away from IM?

    - Oddvar.

There are lot of things you can do with plr. First of filter plr and mrr products. These are two different things.

Original PM I am responding to..

    Hi Jeremy.

i just watched your fantastic video series about changing PLR.

I have one question for you.

In your video you use Photoshop changing Photoshop files.

If the PLR materials do not come with the Photoshop files but only with jpeg files, what are you doing then?

thanks for your time and for your reply.

    Kindly regards,

    Oddvar M
    ODA Marketing.

    Hi again Oddvar,

I got your PM and thought I would respond in the thread here so anyone else that has run into this same problem will know what to do, I hope you do not mind.

If you purchase PLR products that do not come with PSD's then just use the PSD's from a different PLR product.

It's a bit easy for me because I have created over 250 PLR products so I have a full library of past used PSD files that I can easily change into new sets with just some simple copy and paste.

I have so many sets now we now rarely need to hire a graphics person to create new sets for us anymore.

Soon I plan to post a new video to my blog that will show how you can take two or three separate sets of PSD files from two or three products that are totally unrelated, then just use the bits and pieces you like from each of them to create one totally new set of graphics that looks nothing like the originals.

I do this all the time I am FAR from a Photoshop expert.

When I first got started mixing and matching PSD sets from different products I had never use Photoshop for anything other than to edit a photos size.

Once you start opening up the layers and dragging them around a few times it will get easier and easier to see whats going on very quickly.

Again, its easy for me having created so many PLR products, but if you are just working from products that you have purchased, do not limit yourself to thinking that the PDS's you use to create your new set have to come from the product you are rebranding or even a product that has anything to do with the new product you plan to create.

In the video set on my blog How To Rebrand A PLR Product For Maximum Cash we are obviously just rebranding to a new version of the same product.

But with a different photo (I use iStock.com) and a totally new product name this set of PSD files could have just as easily been changed into a product that teaches you to train your dog.

When I get caught up I will post a video of how to do this, but honestly it will be at least two weeks before I will have time.

Until then just take all of the PSD's from every PLR product you have ever purchased and just copy and paste them all into one folder (only the PSD's not the full products) Then the next time you need to rebrand a product go to your PSD swipe file and pick a few to mix and match.

Keep adding your new revised sets back into your swipe file to work from in the future, and in no time you will have dozens of sets that are completely unique, to use when you create new products in the future.

Have fun, and let me know when you have rebranded a product. I would love to see your work!

      @Jeremy_Burns

this is an excellent strategy that I never have thought about doing. I have grouped all of my plr in one plr folder and made sub folders based on product topics, but I have never thought of mixing and matching the psd files to create your own unique context. This is excellent information!!

Firstly arrange them as per rights.

Use products with giveaway rights to build your list.

You can sell plr products to your list.

You can sell them Clickbank, Paydotcom, Click2sell and Tradebit also.

        Good Luck.

I hope Jeremy will see this post. I sent him a pm and I open a support ticket at his support link regarding his offer earlier in this thread for PLRTips.com's OTO. But I'm not getting a reply either way. I guess the offer doesn't stand anymore... and that would be totally understandable. I just want to clarify. So if someone can pass along this message to him, I would appreciate. Thanks!

There are two major types of PLR content:

            a) good PLR content
            b) crappy PLR content

The latter is used to fool people that are not used to work with the PLR content, be it marketers or general people.

Understand that every text you give away (be it for free or for sales) represents you, builds your brand and in its own way describes you. Above all, evaluate the quality you have.

Look for grammar mistakes, spelling, if it makes sense, if it's proper English, whether it's true at all etc...
