Which Autoresponder to handle Clients' Lists?

I have been using Aweber for a while now, but they don't offer the facility to handle mailing lists for clients. I don't want to set up new accounts for my clients as I am handling their lists. At the moment these lists are set up through my own account, but Aweber tell me my account should only really be used for handling lists on sites that I own.

Does anyone know of an autoresponder that allows you to set up lists on behalf of clients, perhaps one with a reseller program similar to that offered by webhosts?

How do others handle their clients' lists?

Thank you
Carol

    Carol,

Take a look at IMNicaMail, it's got the functionality
you need to manage your lists.

Thanks John - looks interesting. Do you have an affiliate link?

    I don't think that's a wise idea, sorry.

Why would you set up clients' lists through your own account?
What happens when your business relationship with a certain client ends? How do you hand it over?

We have seen threads here condemning (rightfully, btw) the practice of some developers registering clients' domain in their own name. Is this different?

The 1shoppingcart autoresponders are a fine way to hook up clients. Have each client set up his or her own account, then grow it with them, adding a shoppingcart with automated "Thank You's!" downloads and more over time, earning a percentage of sales as the accounts increase in their pricing tier structure.

We use long-time Warrior Willie Crawford's private label version here:

And I believe their affiliate program is available to non-members, too, although it's great to have your own company account and reap benefits and experience using it, too.

      Istvan,

Many people offer this as a service to offline customers. These are customers who do not WANT to have their own accounts, or anything like that.

There are MANY times this DOES make sense!

You're quite right Istvan. That's a problem I encounter repeatedly and always register domain names in my client's name in an account of their own.

I actually asked Aweber if they offered a reseller service, similar to that offered by webhosts, so that my clients could download their own back-ups etc. That's when I got into trouble and they told me they didn't and I should really use my account to run my clients' lists.

      @Dbarnum - I'll look into 1shoppingcart as well.

      Thanks everyone.

Aweber might have misunderstood. And they do have an affiliate program. Here you go:

        https://www.aweber.com/signup.htm

        (not an affil. link)

@ dabarnum. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm not looking for an affiliate program - I'm looking for something like the reseller account from my web host, where I can set up a sub account for my clients as part of my own account. Actually - I'm not sure that's clear either!!

I know getresonse has a reseller program but it is a bit pricey. Then again if you get a lot of clients then it will be worth it. I believe aweber has the same function. Basically you sell the system as your own without the getresponse or aweber logo's and links.

            Hope that helps

You can private brand aweber and do this. Also, iContact has what they call an agency account what lets you create accounts for customers under your main account so you can have either total control or dual control. As with aweber - this option is pricier than a standard account.

One thing to keep in mind for can-spam compliance - if you're sending the emails out as if they're coming from your customer - they need to have the customer's physical address referenced, not yours. You need to be aware of this.

    best,
