I don't read much about forum marketing any more. I know that forum moderators have gotten much better at dropping the banhammer on spammers. But, I also know that those links, when they don't get banned, tend to pass me a lot of link juice and traffic. Does anyone have tips for finding forums that are, er..., a bit looser on the rules? Or tips for avoiding the ban? |

If you're just looking for link juice then you can use a trick where you have a link in your signature that links to something innocuous, like your blog, but make one of the letters or words link out to your offer. Even just the full stop (period). The problem is that these backlinks don't have quite so much context as you can't link the exact words you might want to be searched for, but if they're follow links, then they'll count at least a bit.
