Review My Website AND Teach me How to Drive Traffic

I need a website review please: http://www.zen-money.net

So, I've had this website up for quite some time now... I've written quite a few articles on keywords I thought would drive some decent traffic (and rank well because of the low exact match search volume per month)... I've used Angela's backlinks, but I only see about 9 total backlinks for my site (I guess it takes a lot of time for google to find them).

And I have nothing to show for it, except a list of 50+ non paying subscribers. I'm not even getting an average of 10 visits per day right now.

Someone please show me how to drive traffic to my site. I've tried building backlinks, I've added articles to ezine (about 8), and I've tried ranking for some keywords with no luck.

Any Critique of the Site in General would be great.

Thanks

    Well, your blog looks well.

I suggest you put an optin form on the sidebar.

On the other hand, I noticed you are writing about unrelated things, you need to focus on only one topic if you want to make money

    my 2 cents.

    Thanks,

I have a little optin box on the side, but I guess it's not clearly visible. I'll figure out how to put a pop up optin box for wordpress, that should help.

You're right, I probably should focus solely on sports betting. I wanted to put a new perspective on things though because sports picks sites are pretty common.

      Thanks for the advice

What´s it about? Not knowing what zen-money is or what you are selling, the first thing I see is an ad that takes me elsewhare. I don+t think this template is helping you.

You need BIG headlines upfront, something to drag people in. Obviously, you also need traffic... how are they going to find you? What are you doing to promite the site. If only though google then that might be hard since the sites seems to be avbout all kiinds of ways to make money - the zen way. Google needs specific targets to rank you

Whatever the connection is that links Zen practice with
gambling I don't know what it is...

...because your site is about gambling. That's it. The
stretch to link gambling with spirituality is pretty tenuous.

Anyway, to get traffic - just advertise. Not that much
to it... well, except the secrets to writing winning ads.

Don't dodge the need to capitalize your business by
only going after free online traffic - those methods tend
        to be time consuming.

...unless, that is, you are broke and time is all you've
        got to invest.

Fundamentally your site strikes me as B.S. - but I don't
gamble so I'm not your target market anyway. B.S. is
bad - 'cause people are skeptical these days.

Yea pretty much it is just about sports betting. But, I felt the need to separate from the rest of the sports picks community... thus, the connection with Zen (maybe that was a mistake).

In terms of PPC advertising, and other forms of paid for advertising... I am planning on doing that. But I want to make sure I have a solid site first.

The connection with "the secret" and Zen is B.S. No amount of meditation is going to make you win a sports bet. But it will make you feel better if you do end up losing the bet. And sure, there are a lot of over the top claims.

Do we make money sports betting though? Yep. In the private forum we keep a record... and so far we would have made customers 30% profit in three months. A far cry from 100% profit in 6 weeks, but profit nonetheless.

          Thanks

Yea, the ad generates a little money... it's a CPA offer. I figured having the About section would let people know that the site's about sports betting, but I guess this isn't the case.

I like the template though, so I think I'm going to keep that. But I'll have to figure out how to tell people what the sites about upfront.

To promote the site I've used craigslist, very little social bookmarking, and article submissions. Clearly, I have a long way to go though in getting more visitors.

        Thanks

If keeping the template I would change the headline images for every box on the front that are all now the yellow ZM image

Get lots of dollar bills, poker chips, basebal players etc in on those small images to get my attention and immediately let me know which article i need to click on for my interest. NOBODY reads a lot of text on page 1

As far as traffic goes, I would probably take those articles you submitted to Ezines and submit them to another 200 or 300 directories that are out there. Also bookmark your website as well as your Ezine articles at all the social bookmarking sites.

Ahh true, I forgot to submit the same articles to a bunch of directories, and I haven't social bookmarked them yet either. Thanks, going to get on this.
