Are animated banner/ logo/ header/ footer/ icons/ templates helpful?

I keep receiving the following invitation: "Please Let me Know If you are interested in getting animated banner/ logo/ header/ footer/ icons/ templates for an exchange of text links from your website. I will Do Article and Directory Submission for your site. Please let us Know if you are interested."

Do you think animated banner/ logo/ header/ footer/ icons/ templates will help drive raffic to my website and boost my sale? Will it have any effect on my google adsence?

    My own opinion is that animation annoys me to no end and I will click away immediately. Lots of fols love them. As far as driving traffic to your site, if this is an exchange, many times they don't work. Or the traffic is crappy, or its machine generated traffic. There is probably a link within te animation files going back to the site the files are from and if its just a backlink to something tame that could be cool. If its a link back to some site you would not want to do business with in a regular way, you might be better off skipping over this offer.
