Default Traffic Exchanges: Are they worth it?

Traffic exchanges are places where you place your ads for free or pay for credits for your ads to be viewed or pay to become a pro member that will be getting credits monthly.

As a member, you get credits for your ads to be viewed by viewing other members' ads. The credits you get vary. Some ads will fetch you more, while will fetch you low. You only know the amount of credits you get after clicking on the ads.

This can be a sure way of getting traffic to your site for free. This is because people are sure to click on your ads. You may decide to purchase credits if you don't want to be clicking on ads or you could become a pro member.

Some traffic exchanges are:
www.trafficswarm.com
Traffic Syndicate 25
TrafficSoldiers - Increase Website Traffic - Free Traffic - Free Advertising
TrafficG - Top Traffic Exchange
TrafficMeet.com

However, do you think the time spent in viewing other people's ads in other for you to get visitors to your own site is worth it?

Surfing for credits is a waste of time in my opinion. There are only people promoting their products on traffic exchanges and no one is going there to look for information. If you have lots of credits, you could setup an optin page and grow your mailing list.

I agree with Tom. I closed all my traffic exchange accounts a long time ago when I found out just how useless they are. People are clicking just to accumulate points and they are not interested in your website. Moreover if your sites have adsense on them, that's the fastest way to get your Google account suspended as that's against its TOS.

Thank you very much for this reply. I could use it to build and grow my optin mailing list. The traffic one gets may not be useful because people are just there to get traffic for their sites. However, I think with an optin page and the offer of a very valuable free gift, one can build and grow a mailing list.

Thank you HCLee for your reply. It sure is useful for those who are using or wanted to use it to promote their adsense site(s).

I don't agree 100% with the above comments, traffic exchange can work if you know how to do it...

If you do the same thing everybody is doing it is obvious that you are not going to get results because most of the people using this method don't know what they are doing. It is not just about putting an squeeze page in front of surfers...

You have to be creative and think how you can get these people's attention, once they stop surfing and read your message then you can send them to your blog where you have a great article, after reading it they will want more and then you ask for name and email in exchange of more info.

The point is that it is time consuming, but you can outsource it or ask your son or little brother to do it for you and you give him something in return.

Thanks,

I have used traffic exchanges, Safelists and Text Ad Exchanges for a long time. I would like to say that Traffic Exchanges do work great. I get sales for affiliate products that I am marketing every day from them.

But what you must understand, it is not all about just putting your web site in every TE that you can find, surfing for hours on end to try and make some sales, as most of the TE’s are worthless. It’s also not totally needed to use a splash page to try and capture email address of your visitors either, although that does work great.
There are only a handful of TE’s that I use that produce great results for me. When deciding on what TE that you want to use, the site has to meet certain criteria in order for it to work in your favor, and you also need to know what sells in the TE’s.

You have to remember, that most everyone on the TE is just looking to get traffic to their own website, if you can get the right product, in the right price range in front of them, you’re going to produce sales guaranteed.

One other thing to note is that putting a website with a long sales letter may not necessarily produce the required sales. When I visit traffic exchanges, I don't go through the whole long sales letters.

However, if you set up a short but useful article with a lead to your website or blog where you can make a sale, I think you will get some results.

There appear to be two different threads (no pun intended) of thought running thru the different posts. One is that they are worthless, as most members of TEs are marketers only looking for sales or optins. As a result, they just click for credits (and daydream while the timer ticks away).

The other is that they are very worthwhile IF you know how to use them. Unfortunately, I fall into the former category, since I have never found anyone, anywhere providing guidance on HOW to use a TE successfully.

If someone is willing to share such knowledge, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Traffic Exchanges works great. they only work for the Make money online niche.

the only thing they lack is power though

but you can build a Downline in your traffic exchanges to save you time from surfing

Tried it, didn't work. I found that I was getting a fair number of visitors but that they just clicked on to the next site, just like I did.

Rather than spend my time surfing to earn credits, I prefer to work on methods that I already know will work.

It's a matter of opinion, to me I have better things to do with my time...

Suggestion though - Got a girl friend, wife, child (13 and older) ? Slap them on a 2nd computer and let them surf their heart out.

Other than that I suggest you test for yourself because you will get all kind of opinion on why to do it and why not to do it...

I've used a few of them(mostly during my brief MLM stint when I was a newbie) and got very little out of them. As others have said, they can be useful for the IM niche and building lists, but you have to offer something different than the thousands of others doing the same thing. Remember, 99.9% of people are there to get traffic and sales for their own sites - and as such they are in a certain mindset. The best one I found was Link Referral - you are required to surf 30 sites per day, review 5 and post once in the forum. You can pretty much guarantee 20+ hits per day if you do all that, unlike most of the other TE's, you actually get some constructive feedback on your sites. There seems to be an excellent cross section of users and sites there too.

First you need to fully understand the average surfer .

Now go look in the mirror.... this is what the average surfer looks like .

They are people just like you . They are surfing in a blurr to get credits for their site .

They are not looking for candy bars . They are looking for traffic.

Now if you had a free ebook on traffic generation could you give it away for an opt in ?

Would this traffic hungry crowd think you were great for showing them a few free traffic tips in their email?

Is there a possibility of selling this traffic starved, think you are the guru, crowd either a product of your own or as an affiliate?

Endless surfing for credits can easily be avoided by testing for the most responsive exchanges and upgrading . It has to be ppv with an roi that is acceptable to you .

Catch their attention in the top fold . Collect their info. Prove to them you can get them traffic for free. Your for sale item's perceived value just went up in the mind of your list .

get into their mind ... they will get into their wallets

Check my sig for a link to a product that I created showing exactly how I cash in big time with the TE's, Safelists and Text Ad Exchanges.

It all comes down to the ones you use and what you are selling in them. The e-book is 77+ pages long plus I have 12 videos about how you can increase website traffic.

You can also check out my blog that I am creating, link is in my sig also.

Hi guys

ive tried them felt like ive wasted my time and moved on - as simple as that

its good to try things to see if they work for you though - but i really wouldnt waste your time - put the time spent in viewing these sites into creating value traffic that will go viral that will last so much longer.

kind regards

It depends what kind of list you want to grow. If you want a list of people who are looking for traffic for their own sites, then yes, I can see it might help you. You'd have to be selling traffic, though, I think, for that to be the case?

How many successful or millionaire Internet Marketers do you personally know ??

Fact is you have no idea what many of those "successful" marketers do. You think they going to release everything that they do in the public ?? Besides that what works for one person may not work for someone else.

This is why we test.. As Alexa pointed out, if you are wanting to build a list on people looking for traffic and you have a traffic product to sell then it may be good.

But as I said, this is why you ask the wife, girlfriend, child, grandchild, or something to surf for you. This way you do not spend your time doing it.

Hey folks,

I'm hiring!

If someone can show me a plan with the best TE's and surf for me, I'm willing to pay. It's worth it to see if they convert. If not, fine, but everything need to be TESTED.

If they are REAL people, there is ALWAYS a way to convert a certain percentage of them.

Bottom line: PM if you have a SOLID plan of action that can bring at least 300-400 new subscribers per month, I'll pay you to surf.
