Default Preparing Nice looking Ebook Question

I download nice looking ebooks from time to time with images
and pic properly aligned the way the creator likes.
I want to know if these images are prepared in MS Word environment
with the content before converting it to PDF format?

Or is there a better way of preparing ebooks?

I need paid or free PDF report that will teach me
how to make nice looking ebook with
images and pic aligned left or right
with the content the way I want.

Thank you

I create my ebooks in Microsoft word and then convert them into PDF works easy and you can align anything you like and add in images to your word document. Then when you convert it to pdf it all stays the same.

If you want precision control, you'll probably want to use something like InDesign or, gasp!, Publisher.

You can create a decent looking eBook in Word, but I don't think you'll give the amount of precision control that something like InDesign can give you.

Of course, if all you're looking for is basic alignment, such as placing a picture on the left or the right, just read through MS Word's manual or help section. Word is fully capable of creating a decent looking eBook.

I use MS Word for most of my eBooks and
sometimes I use Open Office.

I don't think the Free PDF printers like PDF995
supports hyperlinks though.

I use open office, I think it allows hyper links,

while on the subject, how many pixels wide should the image be?
Used a couple and were either too small or too big to use as header or cover.

Anyone have a good format for that such as how wide to make text and pixel number across that matches ( and vertical for cover?)

Oh yeah, you are right DogScout, Open office does allow hyperlinks.

For ecovers, I usually use 250 x 330 pixels and 350 x 460 pixels see below:

I don't use eCovers on the headers as, customers tends to just look at it and not reading the rest of the sales page
