Offliners : Have you done this ?

Hi,

I run a small marketing business, I use both offline\online techniques as well as traditonal ways of advertising for my clients. I do this for two reasons. First because I believe that the more tools I have at my disposal the more I can halp my clients .Second reason is because I don't want to get known as the "web designer" or "computer guy" , but rather " the marketing guy ,that helps local businesses obtain more business."

Which brings me to my point . I am looking at another means of advertising for my clients (SMS- text message marketing) and wonder if anyone else has any experience with this ?

If you do SMS marketing for your clients , what type of results have you seen ? What company or software do you use to offer this to your clients ?
Would you recommend fellow marketers to offer SMS marketing to their clients?

After asking some of my clients if they would be interested, I can see the demand is definitely there. Now I would like to hear from fellow marketers to see what they think.

P.S. - I thank everyone that shares great info on this forum. I have not posted alot, but I will start. Thanks Again for your insight.

My partner and I did a lot of research on this.
We work with small to medium offline businesses.

Paul Mabry, wrote a report on it and sold it as a
    WSO, the response was poor.

I have no idea why the market is big
    and getting huge.

Here is the two major problems we found.

To own your own broadcasting system you
need about $30,000 to get set up.

So if you can't do that you go to
a reseller or become a rseller.

    Those prices vary a lot.

We found $500 to $2,000 set ups.
    Paid ads to free ads.

It's all negotiable by the way.

Here is the problem, with a reseller everything
    is on their server.

As a reseller everything is on someone else's server.

    All of your customers stuff.

What happens if your seller or reseller takes the
    money and runs?

Or has some other kinds of problems?

His account gets closed, your account gets closed,
and all of your customers lists, that they paid you
month after month for, are gone!

    We just didn't feel protected.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for your input , I appreciate it. After researching many different companies , I am looking closely at adking.com. I would manage all clients campaigns . I would also keep backup files for all clients , just in case Adking goes by the waist side. Does anyone have any info on adking.com good or bad ?

I welcome all other feedback as well, thanks

I am currently able to send as many SMS messages out as you need. I have a network IN PLACE for this at a very reasonable rate. The problem is I do not have an interface set up today. I will be making one and offering it as a WSO in the very near future with the rates posted. If you would like to ask me more about this and have your questions answered, please just send a PM and I will get to it as soon as possible.

SMS is the future if you have not noticed already. You get plenty of text messages you want and now there is a lot you might not want but, there is nothing in place to stop them as of this writing.

Isn't Traffic Geyser offering this now on their squeeze pages?

I'm 99%, but my tech guy handles most of the TG stuff so I'm not 100%.

I've used Tatango in the past and was a fan.

I have a friend who is in a band and every time they play somewhere I get a text inviting me out. Seems to work for him. Also I was in a restaurant the other day and they had a sign to sign up for text message discounts. It is another stream to get access to your clients.
