I have a questions for ppc affiliates. There are quite a few affiliate programs through my affiliate network to promote and most say no bidding on these brand name keywords. Now these keywords get all the traffic so is there a way around this? Can you bid on mispellings? And lets say i did bid on these keywords then sent them to my site which i then direct to the affiliate offer. Is it possible for the affiliate network to find out not pay me? can i get in trouble bidding on these keywords? Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated |

There is no way around it. They put those rules down because they're the ones bidding on the words and don't want you screwing it up for them. As it's their name and their program, it's their prerogative. You cannot bid on misspellings. A half decent lawyer will argue that you're intentionally picking up on the brand name. It's the same for typo squatting on domains. It's very easy for the networks to find out and not pay you. It's similarly easy to hide the source of your traffic, but you don't seem up to the whole "double meta refresh" thing yet. You can't get in trouble. You can merely have your account terminated and your pay withheld... unless you consider that to be trouble. |

If you're promoting Kleenex brand tissues, there is going to be a TON of traffic for Kleenex, you want to go after the words people will use when they are trying to find a Kleenex. Cold, Flu, Runny Nose, etc... |

^^this^^ No way around bidding on the brand keywords without most likely getting you NOT PAID. Brands wouldn't want to create competition for their keywords and drive the price up. Doesn't make sense. | |
