I want to send a "they're having special offers right now check it out" type e-mail to my list.. but not all at once because I don't want some new guy that JUST signed up getting a sales pitch before he's gotten my free content for a while. So I added the message to my follow-up list and asked it to be sent 2 weeks after the last follow up message. My questions is.... will this automatically get sent to anyone who it's been LONGER than 14 days? Like if someone has been around for 3 weeks since their last message will this get sent? Thanks! - Brandon |

Or perhaps, is there anyways i can make a broadcast message but choose to send it only to people who have received my last e-mail in the usual follow up chain?

If you added it to your followup list, it will send it out to everyone once they get to that point. If they are past the point you already sent it, they will not get the email. the only way is to add it at the point they are at and then delete it after it gets sent out.

What happens is this: anyone who has been on your list longer than the follow-up time you are setting will get the email the next day. Anyone who is under that time will not get it until they reach that time. And anyone who joins later will get it at the time you set. In other words, if you want to set a follow-up for two weeks after signup, anyone currently on your list longer than two weeks will get the email the next day. Anyone on your list under two weeks won't get it until they reach two weeks, and the new people won't get it for two weeks. hope that helps! brent ps: this is aweber I'm talking about | |

"True if you add it to the end of your list. However, if you insert it into the list in the middle, changing the order, what about the people who are past that point? Say I have a list with 18 messages, and I add a new email and put it in position 5, will the people already past message 5 still get that message? When I did that on my list with Aweber they did not. |

Brent is absolutely right on this one. I have used aweber for over 6 years and what he said was right on the money.

OK, I have done this, too: adding the new message as your "last" follow-up will send to everybody who is subscribed for more time than you set as the follow up time. Now, if you want to insert a new message in position 5 - you would have to change that number in column #3 (Message: it shows where the subscriber is in the follow-up sequence). If you reset that number to 4, for example, the subscriber starts getting all the messages after #4. However, this would mean they would get messages 6-18 again... Not good |
| In the first half of the year we are supposed to work for the taxman. I think that's a mistake. Help me to get rid of the taxman ASAP - thanks! (You, too, should make less mistakes!) | |

Personally I'd add it to your sequence and then send a broadcast to your entire list about it. I wouldn't worry about subscribers getting the message that just signed up before they get content... Just go ahead and do it. Mike Hill |

You can send a broadcast to only those who signed up more than 2 weeks ago. To do this, first select the list you're going to be broadcasting to. Then go to Subscribers -> Search Set the search criteria to "Date Added" "date is on or before" 10/31/2009 (or whatever the correct date is for 2 weeks prior to the current date). Click the button to run the search, then save the segment (enter segment name you want to use and click the button). Now when you go into the Broadcast screen, you can choose this custom segment from the "Send to Segment" dropdown box. Hope this helps! Paul == |
