Email list marketing - This is how you know you are doing it right.

Whats up everyone!

Daniel here.

I just wanted to share with you a small observation that I have noticed lately.

Over the past few months I have been working on my list building/marketing and im doing an OK job at it.

But recently I have been noticing something quite interesting.

The better I get at it, the more people think I am personally sending them an email. People are now replying back to my emails that I have set in my auto responder as if they think I individually sent them a personalized email.

It's quite strange - and pretty motivating to see that. I guess it's a good indicator of my email marketing skills improving.

It also goes to show that not everyone knows about an auto-responder.

Anyway, just a quick thing I wanted to share with you all.

-Daniel

sounds great. How well is it converting to sales? that is the real test of how well you are doing. Getting emails back is great. It shows that you are connecting with your readers and what they want from you. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, I always find it amazing how many people reply to my (or my clients') autoresponders, like I was sending it "personally". Lets me know I'm doing something right.

    Nice one Daniel,

I think it's a very good point and definitely shows that you are writing emails in the correct manner. Everyone likes to think that they are being personally contacted so to take the time to write a reply is great.

I believe that will be shown in increased sales for you in the future.

They certainly don't. I think if you're involved in the "IM advice" or "make money online" niches they probably do, but in many other niches people don't at all. Nor do they know a lot of other stuff (such as what "Clickbank" is) that we all take for granted.
Right. I also get this regularly, the real measure of success is how much $$$ your list is translating into, IMO.

This is a great point, and I know Daniel addressed it in a previous post and is doing well with sales conversions (great job man). I guess I just wanted to reiterate the fact that ultimately all that we do with marketing, whether it is CPA, PPC, e-mail marketing, etc. is that it really is all about numbers.

In this case, building a positive, personal relationship with your list should translate into great numbers. For example, 50%+ open rates, 60%+ click through rates, and 60%+ opt in rates OR 5%+ sales conversion rates. These types of numbers compared to your bottom line revenue can help you determine the amount of money you're making per subscriber on your list (i.e. $.60+ per promotion). Then, that number can help you determine an approximate monthly income stream, which results in helping you better plan your e-mail/promo schedule and budgeting for your business investments and/or personal living expenses.

Thanks for the post, Daniel, keep up the good work.

I almost always get this too. I'm glad that when they hit reply to one of my autoresponder emails, I get the email. That's usually the only way they contact me.

I'm sure that most people outside the IM niche don't know about autoresponders. I remember when I first got them, I thought they were personal emails to me. Then I discovered that I'm not so special.

I thought for a minute there I was going crazy.

It definitely is translating to sales very nicely. I've noticed a huge increase in conversions with the mailing lists that I have been doing this for.

    There's definitely a relation somewhere...
