Since my expertise is offline marketing, I've heavily neglected list building in my marketing efforts altogether. I'd like to increase my presence online, so I've signed up for aweber, and want to begin capturing a list. I really have no knowledge of list building, anyone willing to lend a helping hand? |

You need to have some reason for people to join your list. A product something free or a newslettter something of value in exchange for their name and email and why would they want to look forward to your emails do you hook them up? Squeeze pages are easy to build are pretty much are a graphic page that is built above the fold so no scrolling is needed. Then you your aweber form to the page. Have a blog? Capture leads on your side bar. Create a membership site perhaps filled with free stuff and gather leads that way. Just some ideas hope it helps get you started. Most important after you start list building keep after your list hook them up. Its almost like a blog. If you stop posting or sending emails those people on your list are going to forget about you and your emails will get lost. |

You need something that people really want, and can only get in exchange of their name and email address.Write a "how-to" manual in pdf format and give it away for free on your blog. Then, send your subscribers valuable and useful information about every 3 days or so for a couple of weeks so they begin to know you and trust you. After that, you build a relationship with them. Then you can send sales material as well. You can go wrong with list building, I have learned a lot from Jimmy Brown. He has a lot of useful information. Here´s the link to his blog: Jimmy D. Brown |

You could find some affiliate product that fits what you would like to promote, make a squeeze page that captures that targeted audience attention and MAKES them want to sign up. run a decent adwords campaign, They enter their Email info and you have a successive amount of emails sent to them not just trying to sell them things but giving them free articles and other products revolving around your chosen niche. build a strong relationship with your clients to the point where whatever you send them A. They will open it. B. they will read it C. they will consider what it is you are offering. so by the time you build a list of 3000 people and 2500 of them are opening your emails and reading them the income potential is great.

First step...What is your audience into! Create 10-20 pages detailed guide on something your visitors will really be interested in! Give great tips and great strategies! Now, squeeze page. Capture the audience with amazing header, and there are some free headline generators available to help you with that. List 5-9 bullet point explaining what the guide will do for them! Get opt in (aweber form) above the fold of the screen! You will also need thank you page as well to explain to people what they need to do to confirm receive the guide! (good idea is to monetize with One Time Offer) And you will also need to create the success page. Great to have as download page of the product. In aweber, just create first message. The best way to build a list is to build relationships based on trust. A list is useless if people do not trust you because they will not buy from you.Start by giving people real value for free.Offer well -researched and valuable information without charging them. Create a squeeze page where they can opt in to view the info and at the same time capturing their information. Build yourself a reputation as someone who gives information that actually helps people achieve something. As you grow in popularity,so will your list and eventually your profits.By the time you do start selling them stuff, they will know your stuff is good. |

Find a group of people with similar interests. Spy on them to see what they like, don't like. Give them what they like in exchange for their email address. You don't really need much more than that. Even a white page with a few bullets and squeeze box can pull signups if the offer is matched well enough. |

Giveaway events. Give away a quality product for free. Also, what you are doing right now will help once you have a squeeze page. Forum marketing is great if you don't have a budget. |

As with what everyone else suggested, free stuff works. Write up a mini-report in PDF that will give the visitor tips and tricks... enough information that they will find useful, but not enough that they can implement it. Then, with the squeeze page, you can have a headline like, "IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE YOU'LL DISCOVER SECRETS TO... [grabbing title here]" "Just enter your email below to get your FREE ## Page report!" At which point you put a form that sends the visitors' email info to your list manager, a link to your free report is sent to their email (after a double opt-in), and the visitor gets redirected to what ever page you want (sales page, etc.) Be sure to assure them that you won't spam them. It could be the difference between a Submit click and a Back click.

Don't be afraid to give away some of your best content for free. Stuff that your customers can actually implement. Something that they can take away and get real results from. The reason why I say this is because people will readily buy something from people who they know, like and trust. The art of recipriocity is very powerful and if your customers can see the power in what your giving as your free content, they will have less hesitation in getting their credit cards out for your paid products. Make a powerful connection like that from the very start with your customers and you will have an army of raving fans, let alone a customer base. Don't just take my word for it. Go and have a look at Lee McIntyre's blog and see the content that he regularly gives away for free to his subscribers. This is stuff that you can use in your business now and he has become very successful very quickly. Good luck my friend. All the best Nathan
