I know there are people out there making money from building and flipping sites. But who are the purchasers and are they making money?

I bought a site from a Warrior ... on Flippa. Got a good deal and have made considerably more than I paid for it and am now flipping it. It's still going strong. It has an excellent ebook that the original owner wrote that has been very popular and still is. I flip sites on Flippa regularly. Whether or not people make money from them is dependent on what they do with the sites. I sold a tattoo site that was making regular sales and had insane organic traffic. He immediately redesigned the site and the statcounter script was still in the site. Traffic went from thousands to none in no time at all, and I'm sure sales did as well. Other buyers buy a site and then it sits ... they never do a thing with it. Whether or not others make money is unknown since they rarely keep me posted about their income. |

I bought one once - a purely spur of the moment thing, and looking back now, I don't have a clue why I did it. I think it was at a time when I was searching for a new niche to pursue and I (very briefly) thought this site's niche might be a possibility. I've added a lot of content in the form of articles but I've never been sufficiently dedicated to it to spend more than a couple of minutes promoting it. If anybody wants a website/blog in the yoga pilates niche, please IM me. I think I paid $60 and I've added a load of content since then, but it hasn't made me a penny. |

I've bought a few and they all make money. Some had traffic already, but most did not. You have to actually do something with most of them or they won't make you a lot. In the right hands, flipped sites can make a whole lotta dough.

I bought a site on Flippa that has a lot of established traffic but wasn't making money. Actually, as a marketer it was dead simple to monetize it - the previous owner was more concerned with content. Now it has a nice balance and has made about twice what I paid for it over four months. edit - come to think of it, I didn't get it from Flippa - I was PM'd an offer elsewhere. Ignore me |
