Have I got the steps for building a website right?

Hi, I am getting ready to seek a website developer(hopefully from this forum) to build a website for me that will sell a pdf download. I believe these are the steps that I will require. I am wondering if I can streamline my requirements in any way such as going with one source that can handle the pdf download payment collection, follow up email, etc, or if I am better off having these functions controlled all by me. Also I am wondering if I have left any pieces of the site out, as I don't want to waste the site developers time. My feeling is that by going with a templatemoster design template I can focus on a website developer who's real strength is is on the back end of the site rather than design. Any thoughts on steps, process are more than welcome. Thanks, Ed.

New site will be built around adapting a template monster template in order to reduce design development costs and time, plus obtain a design I know I will like.

Build approximately 10 pages probably using CSS, based on copy to be furnished with links from pages going back to other pages within site. The site will also have a blog.

Insert jpegs into pages.

Possibly have 3 min video play from link in site.

A popup and also email sign up in main page probably using adweber as base.

An order process page/shopping cart. and merchant account

Install PDF download system or arrange it to be forwarded to another system for handling and load PDF and bonus report into system.

Set up automatic email system to cover:

A confirmation email

An "after order" email sent after confirmation email urging buyer to use product.

Note need system to collect and retain email addresses

Set up system to email newsletters to people that registered.

Set up system to email past customers and also newsletter subscribers info.

Set up system to maintain list of people that are buyers separate from newsletter subscribers but be able to merge them without duplication of names.

Listen, why do you feel you need to hire someone to do this? I started with absolutely no experience with website building and now it is fairly easy. If you have money to hire someone, then go buy a copy of Microsoft Expression Web, or Dream weaver, go to your local bookstore and get a manual and learn how to do it. It will save you lots of money in the long run. If you want to know where you can download a legit copy of Dreamweaver or Expression web, for a real low price, PM me and I will send you the link. I am not affiliated with it in any way. It's just where I bought my copy.
