project advice wanted

I am a 58 year old massage therapist. I have self-help techniques (people can use on themselves) to prevent, relieve and reverse Carpal Tunnel and false Carpal Tunnel syndrome and other cumulative trauma disorders.

I know that the problem is huge and it crosses many occupations. BUT although I haven't done much keyword research, I doesn't appear that this is is something that is searched for a lot.

Before I start running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction, or 12 different directions at once and getting nowhere (been there) I could use advice.

I'm proposing to make a series of short videos using everyday language (and a few audios). I'm thinking about a private membership site (one time fee). I want to get the most important stuff out fairly fast and then add more videos, gradually raising the fee. Maybe start at $19.00 and raise to about $50.00.

Except for making the videos - I really need a plan.

Anyway, thanks in advance.

Hilma

    Hi Hilma,

I got a friend who does her own massage videos and couple it with an ebook.

Other things she could have added could be coupons (which you can easily get from local similar business owners). It can be a very good source of getting extra income through referral fee or it could be a commission basis.

My suggestion is focus on one thing at a time. Start from small and take a step at a time.

    Cheers,
    John

You could produce a couple of YouTube videos to get
started and promote a series of web-based tutorials
which contain images and more video clips.

    Then market this to:

    Doctors
    Chiropractors
    Acupuncturists
    Physical Therapists
    Homeopathists
    New Age Practitioners
    and
Anyone else who can distribute this product.

The sky's the limit on this if you work it.

The YouTube videos will be the way I'll start. I was getting ready to go, but I've been sick for a week and my voice still isn't quite back.

As far as how to get medical professionals to market my product, I don't have a clue.

I was thinking maybe putting ads in ezines read by some of the people who get the problem: musicians, accountants, gardners, etc.

I do need to get going on the videos. Also need to get feedback on them once I get some up.

      Thanks

        Hi Hilma,

Well i say is that even though you put up the videos and you charge them its ok but u also try to get some feedback from the customers as what and how they feel about the video.whether it is beneficial to them or not,you got to eleminate there doubts and answer there queries as what so ever they are in respect to the video.

Before you charge them you give them a free trial for lets say 15 days, so as they would ascertain whether to register with you and pay you and they will not feel cheated as you have given them 15 days free trial.

        Hello Hilma,

You could start with your local phone book, call them or
send literature or visit them in person. That should keep
you busy for a while. Once you are ready to expand you
can buy lists or use Switchboard.com to locate medical
        professionals outside of your locality.

Why would I want to start locally? Why would a doctor want to promote my product? My techniques are designed so that people can avoid doctors.

Okay. But you never stated that. You came here asking
for a plan so why knock me? The professionals that I listed
have established clientele & that would be reason enough
            for me to network.

Anyhoo, I shall be moving right along.

Good luck with your new venture.

Thanks Mike, Eventually I do want to make a physical product.

I figure if I start with the most important short videos first and keep making more clips, I'll have enough for a DVD. By then I might want to revise the first videos as my experience grows on camera.

Thanks for your input. Going through medical professionals just had the wrong gut feel to it. Especially when my sales letter should encourage them to buy the product so they won''t need to go to a doctor.

This sounds like one hell of a good Physical product... I'd probably do a physical product and advertise in magazines and look at purchasing mailing lists for a direct mail campaign.
