Hey guys, This is my first time posting here. In fact, it's my first time venturing properly into the Internet Marketing world. I'd like your advice on what type of site to use for an AdSense niche mini-site. Should I use a static website? Should I use a Wordpress theme? What are the pros and cons of both. If I use Wordpress, what theme should I use? Looking forward to getting your advice. Thanks! |

Blog sites, easier to run, can be auto piloted, are indexed faster, rank faster, more linking options, etc. ![]() That is for adsense in my opinion |

I used to use Wordpress for everything, now it is a combination of html sites, and a few Wordpress blogs. I converted everything over to static html after some hacking problems with Wordpress. I think static sites are great for mini niches using the affiliate or Adsense model. I mainly use Dreamweaver to build the sites. It is too early to tell if it is affecting my SEO efforts, however. I know Google loves Wordpress, so it will be interesting to see if I fall off the SERPs. |

I personally use static HTML for Adsense sites I plan on leaving alone for a while.

For someone with little experience in creating websites and SEO, WordPress is going to be easier to deal with out of the box. For someone who does know how to create websites and do SEO, either will work just fine. I've tended to use static HTML/PHP pages recently because I got tired of worrying about upgrading every time WordPress got hacked and the extra bandwidth a 'fat' script like WordPress used. These aren't the kind of things most people worry about until they hit 50-100 niche sites though. |

I like Wordpress for its relative ease of use. If you are going for adsense income you might want to try the Adsense Heatmap theme, which is free. Make sure youread the turorials so you quickly grasp how to use it, specially the adsense modules.

In my opinion, there is no reason to build static html sites any longer except maybe for the ones mentioned. Maybe not as secure, upgrading/compatibility. But you can certainly take measures to minimize these potential drawbacks. Wordpress beats static html sites hands down. |

Problem with wp is that with most themes it creates tons of unnecessary source code and distracting items on your pages. A static site that you create yourself in most cases will be much better optimized for the purpose of an adsense site. I would use wp only with a heavily reduced template, that -shows only what i absolutely need to get the adsense clicks. - is very much SEOed. Which most themes are not, not even those who call themselves SEOed. For adsense sites working SEO is a must. Ralf |

WordPress is best for SEO and having dynamic content on the front page of a website greatly increases the respective sites ranking.

I use a static site with a blog on the front end . Wouldn't know word press if it bit me on the butt. I have several Google one rankings and for the right search term can do it in less than 24 hours . |
