With all the threads this weekend with people (seemingly) throwing in the towel, it seems like it might be a good time to not give up. While I certainly don't wish anyone to fail, and want for others to succeed in IM, all the dropping out just means one thing: less competition. I imagine that, for every one person that posts, there are 10 more people thinking the same thing that don't post. Maybe more. So, just this weekend, there's a good number of people getting out of IM in whatever niches they were in. And that means less competition for those who stick it out. Unless, of course, newbies jump in, thinking it's a good time to jump in when competition is leveling off. Maybe you just can't win. |

Giving up is what you do when you die. If you're not dead then you keep trying. Geesh!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Global Giving Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. I have friends in Japan, none of whom -- fortunately -- were affected. But lots of people are still doing it tough. So, thank you on their behalf. | |

| My thoughts exactly. In my life there have been many times I've felt like giving up...for about 5 minutes. Then I just got my head right back in the game....thinking about how I could help other people. If you're thinking about giving up all the time you're way too focused on yourself and your own problems instead of focusing on helping others solve their problems. Kindest regards, Andrew Cavanagh |

It should be required for the give up type poster to at least tell us what niche they are leaving .

I would agree with your post, Dan.. IF The "competition" you speak of, was actually worth worrying about in the first place. 90% (guessing here!) of the people who are planning to give up, drop out and leave this industry, probably never even made it onto your radar as competition when digging into a niche. So, maybe they are stopping themselves from becoming competition in the future, but right now... they were as insignificant as we all are ![]() Peace Jay |

This seems to me to be a tough business to perfect. I have made a few dollors here and a few there. Right when I want to give up a site of mine will make me some money and make me feel I can do this. So I am going to keep going at it and hope one day it will all just click. Good Luck to ya,.

People getting into IM believe the hype that you can come in...put up a sales page and make $1000 the first hour. Then when they find out they have to work some they realize it's not as easy as they were led to believe then they give up without trying to find out how to do it the right way. Nothing comes easy. Usually people ask themselves this question: "Should I continue?... Is it worth it?" The question you have to ask yourself is "why do I want to give up?" If you don't have a strong valid reason for ggving up, then don't! in the words of Energizer, "Never Say Die!" in the words of Nike, "JDI". |

Unfortunately there are deperate people out there who have been separated from their hard earned cash by 'Make $5000 a month from home' scams. They only realize the IM like anything else needs alot of hard work and dedication to be profitable.

| Drunken Greek War Room Member | Not everyone is cut out to manage a business of their own, online or off – and I suspect that most quitters are really just playing lotto when they buy into MMO’s in the first place. Once they realize it involves time and effort they just move on to the next one. They rinse and repeat until they can’t spend any more money for whatever reason and then they “Quit”. Even “Quitting” is used loosely because it’s kind of hard to quit something you actually never really started in the first place. There was a bonehead that popped in here the other day with a thread about making $30K in thirty days with a blog. So he slapped up a free blog somewhere and as soon as he realized no money was going to come in he quit. Plan B? Come to the WF and get someone to give him the magic bullet to make it happen for him. I know quite a few folks that started 3 or 4 years ago and are really now just coming into their own. They weren’t chasing the dream though – they spent their time chasing the education in IM, experimenting and slowly but surely building up revenue streams here and there. Hell, someone I just started mentoring a few weeks ago (and he knew nothing about IM at all) just made his first $300. And in between pulling this together the poor guy thought he had stomach cancer, went through a bunch of tests and ended up having his gall bladder removed the day before the product launched. He didn’t quit. He didn’t put it “On Hold”. He didn’t allow his health problems to be an excuse for giving up. Now he’s got a small revenue stream he knows he can follow up on and meanwhile, he’s exploring another one. Maybe I’m too much of a hard ass, but except in a few very specific cases, I’ve got no sympathy at all for quitters. I know from experience that anyone willing to learn, make the effort and exercise a bit of patience can make it. Some sooner than others, but the end result is ALWAYS the same. From what I’ve seen of people who feel the need to announce to the world they are quitting is simply that they want attention. They want others to feel bad for them and give them something easy and profitable to do. And members do get sucked into responding, but watch the OP – they’ve always got an excuse as to why the suggestions involving any real work aren’t a good fit for them. <sigh> Instead of posting about it, they need to pick up their toys and go home. And not let the door hit them in the ass on the way out |
