Default What's with all the threads and posts about giving up!?

Too many posts appearing on giving up...My real question here is that if someone really wanted to give up, they would just do it, and wouldn't even bother making a post on here!

for instance:

"I'm Giving up TOO"
http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ng-up-too.html

"I'm Giving Up"
http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...giving-up.html

" I think maybe ill not give up yet"

I Think Maybe I'll Not Give Up Yet

Or how about all the emotional posts?

Does Anyone Get Lonely?

Or posts which have NO category:

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ve-inside.html

I am thinking that maybe people here who make a post on this, simply want some sympathy and help there, and want to have others help them out with ideas and money, otherwise, why bother posting such things?

If one is posting those things on here, then obviously one is NOT ready to give up, but rather give up on the things that weren't working before this point...

Agree/Disagree?

Why should one have to dig deep through these kinds of posts just to find the information in the main MARKETING forum. I am sure you feel the same way about this thread.

Do you agree or disagree yet? Either way, one's time is THOROUGHLY being wasted.

Honestly if people focused a little more on actually helping others instead of their own problems they'd be doing a whole lot better.

Also posting a thread about how you're giving up or not giving up....really...?

Seems like you're putting a whole lot of effort into this giving up thing.

Perhaps you should put some effort into building a real business that supplies a product and/or service to others.

And focus on genuinely being of service to people...by helping other people with solutions to THEIR problems.

That's how you succeed. Not by whining and complaining about your problems.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

I'll never give up. Not untill they drag me kicking and screaming out of wireless range. Lol. I was brought up to NOT quit. Ever. Especially if ethics are involved. Fact is, sometimes giving up is the smart move. If I ever decided that what I was doing was impossible for me to do, a few years from now at an odd moment, (when you were watching House reruns or 'the cuckoos' nest'), I'd cross your mind and you'd wonder 'I wonder what ever became of that guy with the hat and the funny name?'

one tenth of a second later even that thought would melt away..

You can never help others unless you have your own life together first.

A fat guy can never teach others how to lose weight.

A broke guy can never teach others how to make money.

A Person who smokes can't teach you how to stop smoking.

Sorry, but it doesn't take much digging to just ignore titles like that.

So far we haven't had the seasonal rush of threads that are long involved tear jerkers...

It's not hard to avoid them. I don't click on a thread unless the title interests me.

I prefer these types of threads over the ones where the same question has been answered close to a million times before.

The thing is there are many people here who may not have the financial success as others but have been successful in different aspects. maybe writing, or link building, and just does not have the $$ where everyone thinks it should be. and then it may be that they dont make BIG $$ because they dont want it. Hard concept for people here to grasp I know but it is possible

I too have thought about throwing in the towel - many times. I've spent literally thousands and thousands of dollars on e-books, courses, programs, etc. and it's frustrating to watch your money disappear with NO return. But the truth is, the game of IM is to keep moving forward. No matter how much your brain tells you to quit or do something else, your 'reason why', if strong enough, will always keep you moving forward.

My family and some of my friends have seen me go through the valleys of marketing - seen my frustration - and desperation. But that hasn't stopped me from wanting to succeed. Once you have that internal entrepreneurial drive, you can't quit because it doesn't go away.

Maybe it's stubbornness or resiliency that keeps me going, but whatever it is I will be 'keep on keeping on' as long as I humanly can.

Yup and we all feed it by posting in it...And we give them more attention. They get it because we give it.

Those "boo-hoo I'm giving up" threads make me think of someone with access to a well stocked kitchen with all the ingredients needed to make a great meal, whining that they have to go hungry because nobody will drive them to the nearest fast food place for their daily dose of crap masquerading as food.

What they should do is decide what they want to cook, and perhaps ask if anyone can tell them which cook book has the best recipe for whatever it is.

Anyone thinking of giving up should first join the war room, and read everything Allen Says has provided; there are a lot of exciting insights, ideas and strategies that will make anyone with any vision realize that if they change their mindset, and focus on building their business, they can not only make a living, but get very rich online if they choose a model and focus their efforts on it.

You know, only one of three posts was someone wanting to give up.

I was the "I'm giving up too" OP.

The original post title was "any ideas?" It went 9 hours without a single response and then after I bumped it, I got a total of two responses. Done.

I've got another post I put up this morning, sans the parts that sounded desperate. You'll find it on page three, also with ZERO responses - What should I focus on this weekend?

I was so pissed to see everyone constantly flocking to the whiners who "Can't do it!" and ignoring my genuine requests for advice even though I showed how much I have done and how dedicated I am to continue doing, that I modified my post title this evening.

See the latest post count? Maybe there's a behavioral lesson to be capitalized on here.

Well, it's just a more subtle way of saying, "Tell me some quick ways to make money by tonight."

If you ask that question outright you'll get replies like "think of it as a business", "you're not making money, you're building a business" etc..

I mean, if you are really quitting at something good, you wouldn't let others. I mean, who would want others to know they're a failure? At least I wouldn't.

It is more like, show me your hard work for me to replicate.

No harm in asking for help but no more "I give up" comments and expecting pple to show you how they make money. Help is always here, just ask for it, just short of giving you the whole secret fault.

I do sympathize with those who have really tried. Try harder & you will succeed.

I agree. What I find pathetic about the "I give up" type threads (and I didn't think it was about anyone in particular, though somebody seems to have taken it that way), is that they're often taking the posture that IM "doesn't work", when there is a ton of evidence right in front of their face that it does.

I've seen some complain about other warriors not helping them enough, when this forum gives you more killer business models than you could shake a stick at, and there are thousands of posts all over the forum giving specific advice and encouragement to those who ask questions with a good attitude.

To me, if you come here and expect help and then argue when it's given, or complain about it, that shows a lot of your problem is your own attitude. Get over your pity party, join the war room, start reading all the great upbeat threads, get excited, quit complaining, and go for it.

I don't get it either. Like giving up will prevent them from working. Either way they have to work for their boss for the rest of their lives. That's a pretty future outlook. *sarcastic* =S

Life is not easy and to get somewhere you have to bite the bullet. The most successful people today, entrepreneurs, artists etcetera... They all had to go through hard times.

EDIT... I recommend everyone to watch the movie 'The Pursuit of Happyness' (true story!)
In fact you can watch it here...

Maybe it's just me...

But if you're gonna take the easy road and quit... why do any more work than you have to and post a goddamn thread?

If I was going to throw this biz in the too hard basket because I didn't like work... well... writing a goddamn novel about it seems counter-productive :P

What gets me more than the people who start all these sympathy threads
is the members who continually enable these people by posting replies to
them.

Maybe if we'd all just ignore these folks, this nonsense would stop.

Just my opinion of course.
