I tried to follow what I'd learned through courses and by lurking around here, but although my article views are decent (considering I've done nothing but throw up a few articles on ezines yet) my click through rate is dismal, only 6%. Can anyone please help a noob out? Here's one of my articles (they all have a terrible click through rate): How Not to Be a Loser With Women - What Women Find Attractive in a Man Many guys are under the impression that women do not know what they want in a man. Well it's time to throw away this tired old piece of dating advice. The truth is that women are the best at knowing what women find attractive in a man. Although all women have different preferences there are some things women almost all agree are sexy. If you're not doing these three things, it's very likely she thinks you're a loser. Don't ignore the sense of smell: Out of all the senses, when it comes to sexual attraction, smell is one of the most important. Like our sexual urges smell is closely connected to the emotional, non logical part of the brain. Guys tend to ignore smell but it's very important to women: think of all the money they spend on perfume. Wearing great colognes can instantly boost your sex appeal. If you smell bad, you can forget it from the start. Be a prize catch: What women find attractive in a man is that he's of high value. If you place a high value on yourself then so will others. Start feeling that you are worthy to be hunted down by gorgeous women: and demonstrate this with your words and actions. Be the guy who knows exactly what he wants in life and is determined to get it. If everyone has control over your life except yourself, if you are still living in your parent's basement, if you have no life goals, then it is very likely she will perceive you as a loser. Radiate Masculine sex appeal: You need to act manly - it's as simple as that. Most men know what it is for a woman to be sexy but they don't know how a man can act sexy. You need to act strong, act brave, and be in control at all times. You need to know when to take action and when to draw the line. If you're not manly enough she'll have no respect and she will soon walk all over you! Being manly is not the same as being a jerk. Many men complain that the jerk gets all the hot girls, but this is not true: the majority of women find jerks repulsive. Did you know you can increase your perceived social status in women's eyes almost instantly? Forget ugly girls: start dating only the hottest women visit livelikeaplayboy. Stop being a loser: become a dominant male today! |

I'm not real familiar with this niche, but is it wise to go at the reader with such a negative angle? You come out of the gate with "don't be a loser" rather than something positive like "three tips to score chicks" (or whatever).

I'd like to give you some constructive criticism.. I'll be completely honest when I say that the quality of the writing is not that great, and most people are probably not getting all the way through your article to read your resource box.. |

The links are not working because I'm not allowed to post links before I have 15 posts! I know writing is not my strongest point, I'm a much better speaker than a writer. The articles have the same content others in the niche have, but in my own words. I am getting decent clicks though so maybe the titles are ok. I tried taking a negative angle in some and a positive "learn how to score chicks now" angle but both got the same lousy click through rate. Any more specific ways in which I can improve the writing and the resource box? |

| I know the links don't work. I'm promoting a product called Living Like James Bond which is written by a member here. Yes, I have considered video marketing, but I do also want to learn effective article marketing because if done correctly I know it can bring in very good traffic. And also for my general life - it's like when I speak people listen, but when I write everything goes flat and it's getting annoying. monopuff, I would be interested to know exactly what you think is not so great about my writing - is it the sentence structure/wording? Or the content (if it's the content that's easy to solve, since I did not come up with the content myself anyway). Not offended or anything, just curious. But I do put a decent amount of hard work into writing them, this took me 20-30 minutes to write. About the negative angle in this niche for some reason I see the negative angle used a lot: stuff like "I'm charismatic and you're not" and "Butt ugly? Learn how to get chicks anyway". |

This article reads like just about any other that gets submitted in this niche. Basic advice that your reader probably has heard and read multiple times. Doesn't give much of a reason to click through as it gives the impression that they are just going to get more basic advice. (it's a dime a dozen out there) As far as the negative angle goes, that's hit or miss. Do it right and you can make your click through rate skyrocket. Do it wrong and it looks like you are trying a gimmick. By the way, almost every writer in this niche uses that same gimmick and it loses much of its value. After a while, most guys realize that it's just a marketer and not a guy who is a real expert on dating. You have to make it POP by giving something a little more edgy or lose the gimmick style altogether. What I come away with is: Smell nice, have confidence and act like a man. There's probably 10,000 articles in Ezines that say the same thing. |

my suggestion is to work on what you are good at for now , start making videos and get your traffic up. then Go back and work on improving your writing. I recommend investing in some copywriting books, there are several good ones online, or go to the bookstore, It will improve your writing tremendously,

If it's boring, then try to find a couple of niches that you can write about. That way you don't burn out too quickly and you can start to see commonalities in the articles that DO get a lot of clicks. Also, one more thing...for a lot of niches, they just don't buy right away, so build a list. The best $ 20 a month you will spend as it can return 10x to 100x that amount. |

it is a good niche, if you do it right. The point being made isn't the quality of the niche, its the terrible job people do writing for the niche. be creative, and learn to touch peoples EMOTIONS. Ignite your readers passion and they will want more. And this niche is all about sparking emotion, should be easy to do. Try recording yourself saying what you want to say. Then transcribe that. Don't worry about grammar, or anything you learned in school. You say you are a good speaker. If you can say it you can write it. Another problem is too many people submit articles for link juice and don 't even care if anyone actually reads it. People focus so much on search engine rankings, they forget the reason for the rankings is traffic. And having a well written article will bring you that. |

How many articles have you written already? Also, if you only want to improve your click through rates, then you need to work on your resource box. Give the reader a reason to visit the site... what will they get by visiting the site? Also, you must think of the reader and how THEY will benefit by visiting. Based on what I'm seeing... it's not very click-inviting. Quote:
Instead of "Stop being a loser: become a dominant male today" ... you could go with "Become a dominant male today - don't be like the rest of the losers" Simple swapping of the sentences but much more powerful. Also, you can offer people a freebie of some sort when they visit your site. Asher | |
