Default Now THIS, is a buying signal

My 18 month old boy, upon the first ,tiniest hint of even a 'slightly damp' diaper, taken to bringing me a brand new one, and lying down on his back, so that I will immediately cater to his demand to be changed to a fresh and dry article of clothing.

This 'buying signal' tells me that he is buying into the idea of potty training. Eighteen months is kind of young, especially for a boy, but we are talking about a precocious child here.

Here are some of the 'buying signals' that prospects give:

Asking questions like:
"How much is it?"
"Is there a guarantee?"
"Do you take credit cards?"
"Do you have a payment plan?"
"What is your [support] policy?"

How can you achieve this kind of 'interaction' with your website visitors?

My sites have forums, blogs, and I will use sidebars and stickies to announce weekly live chat or live video conferencing to announce things like 'no holds barred' interactive sessions or contests to get real time interaction so that I might 'see' these 'buying signals' live.

I'm pretty much a 'people' person, so I like the interaction with my visitors. The Internet, as a rule, is somewhat 'impersonal.' Giving special attention to your customers is a key factor in tearing down the walls of 'distrust' that the Internet has created. I know it goes against the 'set and forget' allure of a web business, but it's definitely one of the 'usp''s that has worked for me.
And it gives me the opportunity to scan for those 'buying signals'.

Hi Dani, beautiful post. I will incorporate teleseminars or webcasts for free. This is a classic "good use" of free teleseminar/webinar time. This forum is like having your own personal army of consultants sometimes.

The Only Article Repository You'll Ever Need - 300 Word (or less) Articles Accepted with Bio. http://www.goingfree.info FREE promotion of your article on our content network. Page Rank going to explode.

I've found that even something as simple as requesting an email response can motivate people to buy, then again... I try to establish some trust right away by showing them a video when they join my list

Yes, it's a great community. I learned a lot about Online Marketing just by lurking here. I can't wait to see what awaits now that I'm 'part of the army.'

jbode,
That's awesome. Videos are a great way to show people that you are a real person.
