So I have about 30 .info domains that are due to expire right before Christmas with GoDaddy. When I went to check how much it'll cost to renew them it said it was going to cost $270 to renew them all for one year. When you buy these domains dirt cheap at $1.50 or whatever they are is that only for one year and then they become $9 for any other years or is the above price wrong? |

Hi Pat No the price is correct - that's the deal with the .info domains. You get them for pennies (1&1 used to give them out free) but the renewal is as expensive as any other TLD. I used to own about 100 .info domains and ran into the same thing - I now have about 5! Bill |

I'll most likely get rid of most of them in that case! | |

The question is did those .info domains make money? $270 a year isn't a big expense if they're making you $27000 a year or even just $2700 a year. If they made only $27, then a house cleaning or strategy change is in order. Weed out the non-performers and non-starters and dump them but keep those that are profitable or that have potential. |

And, if you are not using them yet, just let them expire and re-buy them in a month for $0.89 for another year (if you want them).

Yeah, I know it isn't a huge expense in the big scheme of things but I haven't started using them. I was just about to and thought I better check when they expire before hand. Lucky I did! They are practically worthless as is so I'm going to let the majority of them expire. I just bought an auto-blog wp plugin so I'll probably end up buying some more. |

I came to know about this only 3 months before the expiry of my .info domain and thought instead of wasting the money, I would build some site around it and make little money. I did make money and I thought of selling it off for quick cash, that's how I got started in domain flipping and now I flip around 60 .info domains a year and believe me, when a .info domain makes $100 a month, paying $9 a year to get that $1200 a year is not a bad deal.

HI If you can not afford to pay the $270 to renew them all.. pick what you want to keep... and clean house.. then put what you do not want back on domain forums for sale for like $1-$2 each this way you may make some money back to pay for the renewal of the ones you want to keep. Sell them on Namepros.com Dnforum.com Domainsite.com Thanks Tom |
