Everyone needs an enemy...
In my previous life my friends and I had a common enemy - someone we despised, hated and did everything possible to overcome, beat and be better than...
Some might say that's negative, counter productive and just bad... That said it drove and inspired us to work harder, be better and push harder than the enemy... The result?
We were better. Than enemy has since folded - his scams, mistreatment and abuse of trust have all but ruined his business.
I recently listened to an awesome audio with Lee McIntyre and Jit Uppal. Lee said that (sometimes) he needs to get angry to push himself, motivate him and break out of his comfort zone (Lee - I hope I'm not misinterpreting if you read this).
Today... I'm struggling or at least I was until I visited a blog by an IM'er. He blows so much smoke up his own a**e it makes me sick. I bought a product one - it sucked, I downloaded a free WSO, it sucked. And I've just remembered how angry he makes me...
I'm on a drive (and whilst I'd love to smash the guy - it's not practical or legal) I'm just going to use this 'enemy' to motivate and drive through boredom, difficulties and bad patches to achieve what I've set out to achieve.
Does anyone else need an enemy or anger to drive, push and find that fire to go through the 'pain'?
